It's a 'thing' now ono. It's pretty annoying because most of the discounts aren't great and actually cost what the product cost in October. I see it as a way for shops to get rid of stuff they can't sell by getting people all caught up in the myth that it's all great bargains. Also, how is black Friday suddenly a whole week?
Elsien, don't take it personally. They ask me stuff like that too. I think it just becomes automatic after a while.
Does anyone know how to build good robots. I think I need a robot me to do this mind numbingly dull job. Saw a really good job advertised, applied for it then realised it is almost a 90 minute commute each way.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

I know you've got to get the job before it would be a problem but my first thoughts on that are:
How long's your current commute?
Would you be driving or on public transport?
What would the cost of travelling be?
Is it a straightforward or convoluted journey?
Are there alternative ways to get there if your normal one's unavailable for any reason?0 -

When I applied for it, I thought it was at a different location then Mr CP pointed out it would be at the other location. My current commute is 20-25 minutes. I'd need to do that, then get on a bus. Needs to be public transport because I can't drive due to seizures atm. It's annoying because I was really excited by that job. . They might not even want to interview so probably a moot point.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
If there is more than one location is it something that could be done from either? Maybe they'd be flexible for the perfect candidate0

These are questions if they interview me! Along with asking to work from home. :rotfl: Thing is, if you're keeping track of my woe is me job posts, this would be a gateway into the more lucrative and interesting sector, so maybe it would be worth it. I've lost all confidence in my ability to make decisions. What if it's worse than this place?
Why am I even worrying about this? I just submitted the application form.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

As you say, it's probably not worth worrying about yet but at least working through these questions now means they won't be added to everything else to think about if/when you get an interview.
Is losing 2 hours a day (possibly, if they're flexible with where you work you could end up gaining time) worth it for getting into a sector you're interested in? Also, is the transport you'd have to use reliable/easy? My commute is about an hour and a half each way but it's actually a lot less stressful than the shorter journey I had before we moved. It's one train, I'm near the start of the line so always get a seat and they run on time more often than they don't.
From what you've said it would be hard for it to be worse for you than where you are now but, if it is, you can look for another job.
I'm useless at making decisions so can sympathise with the lack of confidence in them but at least you're opening yourself up to possible decisions rather than sticking your head in the sand and hoping things will improve on their own :T (not meant to be patronising, I'm proud of you for doing it because I'm more of a head-in-sand person)0 -

Trust me, if I could stick my head in the sand on this one, I would but my level of misery is too high and morale too low. I almost wish I could just ride it out for a year or two but it's been less than 3 months and I'm so miserable I can't face it anymore.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Well good for you for acknowledging that and being proactive about sorting it (and again, that's really not meant as patronising! If anything, I'm jealous as I don't seem to be getting anywhere)
I still have my fingers crossed for a big lottery win which I appreciate should not be plan A!0 -
tea,
it's my plan A - Z at the moment too. Plan, not even wish list. (Although I only 'gamble responsibly with one ticket a month or so, so not at all likely).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Well, a bit of a while back, I did post about this free course!

Talking of which, I've started watching "Humans", and am fascinated!
I soooooooo want a Synth! Want one, want one!
The actors playing the Synths are brilliant!
On another level, it highlights the problems of being different in a society that thinks you're inferior in some way, and I can also see parallels with the history of black people and slavery, and the fight to be considered, not only as equal, but even to be considered as human!(I just lurve spiders!)
