Lambyr, I watched Girlhouse last night and oh dear :rotfl: I really shouldn't watch films that use computer / networking things as major plot devices as I just get cross at how wrong they get everything! :rotfl:
:rotfl: Yeah! I mean I'm not a complete whizz on computers. I consider myself more competent than average. I can build them, I can get them to do what I want them to do, I know a bit about networking, security and I can do some small-scale coding (mostly the CSS, PHP, HTML stuff needed to customise/tinker with a Wordpress installation). But even I can look at Girl House and go "Yeah, no. Just no." :rotfl:
And what on earth was he trying to do with that tyre iron?!
E gets to pick the movie(s) on Saturday night, so the next one I mention might be better! She would always like to say,

Strange question, but does anyone know if you can freeze milk?
The Internet is providing conflicting advice.
I re-ordered my previous order, with a couple of changes, but forgot to remove one bottle of milk. As it is earlier than normal we've not used both of the previous two bottles yet, and I can't get three bottles in the fridge. She would always like to say,

Yes you can. just don't leave it in there for months as goes gross when defrosted.
you can freeze most things. I have frozen milk and still here to tell the tale.
I feel really rough and struggling. did not get to sleep until 6am and awake again at 8.30ish am. hanging now :rotfl:

I freeze milk sometimes in the original plastic container. It looks orange in the container when frozen but is perfectly okay when defrosted. (stand in something to defrost as the container can get misshapen so it won't stand upright).
Belated happy birthday, calley.
I am trying to reorganise finances as I have taken my eye off the ball and I am trying to train DH better about not 'misery spending'.
I applied for one of the 0% money transfer cards and was gutted to be turned down. I wish I had checked MSE pre-eligibility checker beforehand as it would have told me I wasn't eligible.
After a sulk, whilst researching why I may have been turned down, I found the checker and applied for a different one which has been accepted. That is a relief because I was thinking the failed application was going to doom me forever!
I am on a slight downer anyway for no real reason. Littlewing and ER and MIL have all got different infections. So I may be filled with all sorts of germs.
Really, everything is good and I need to get off my backside and exercise.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
On a positive note, my blog post from yesterday got retweeted by Carers UK and Age UK so my ramblings must have been some use to someone!
Haha Georgie! I used to be quite accident prone. Suppose I still can be sometimes! But I no longer seem to be covered in bruises or strange scratches so I figure I have got better. Hope you're not feeling the effects of your latest accident for too long. Sounds a bit painful!
It's painful when I've been sitting abit and then get up, so I've been trying to keep moving today. Not sure if that was the best idea now as I'm aching, and my arm aches when I lift it....I'm also a moany Minnie according to D! :rotfl:
That's great that those two charities retweeted your blog post, well done! :T
Yes, I'm sure you can freeze milk. I'm sure I read somewhere about someone about freezing it into an ice cube tray and then just taking a cube out for tea and coffee.0 -
Thanks all! I've put the milk in the freezer. It won't be in there for months! Probably for about 4-5 days, depending on how much we use. I have an icky stomach condition that can be "treated" with drinking milk, and mum has these bizarre latte like drinks so we do use a fair amount.
Sorry you feel rough, calley. Hope you can get a better night's sleep soon
And sorry you're on a downer, WW. Good to hear you were able to get a credit card though. Hope the financial reorganisation goes well.
Oh dear, Georgie! Hope all the acheyness goes away, soon!
And WaS, Pyxis, Faerie, Code, CD, and everyone I've probably missed cos I have a mind like a sieve, I hope you're all doing okayShe would always like to say,

Bizarre latte like drinks? Curious now!
Adding on to your list above, haven't seen Melly around for abit. She been posting on other threads, so I'm assuming she's ok?0 -
Georgie have you tried raising your legs on a cushion at night when trying to sleep? It's the only way I can cope with restless legs now. I have to have them raised quite high.
Late happy birthday Calley!
I have a job interview tomorrow for a job I don't want. Do I go? I have other more productive things to do if I don't go, but the interview practise would be good.0 -
We freeze our milk as a matter of course. The bottles are then thawed in rotation, shaken a bit as they do so - took no time at all yesterday! So it's like frozen peas, as we get a bit low, we buy some more, use it as we need it, simples.
I have a friend with restless legs & I keep my eyes open for anything that might help her. I know it sounds daft, but apparently there just may be something in putting a bar of soap under the sheets, probably the smell. Even if it only helps the odd person, I suppose anything so simple could be worth a try.Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.0 -
I haven't tried that Welly, will give it a try thanks!
I know it's all experience, but if I didn't want the job then I probably wouldn't go personally. But if you think it might be an advantage for further job interviews, then it might be worth it?
Sometimes the most bizarre ideas are actually the best SJ!0
