Still hot and humid as anything here. No sign of this storm. Where is it?!

And so still not feeling massively productive - more sweaty, manky, tired etc. - so been messing around on my site again. Wrote out a review for that rubbish I watched last night, then decided to put my whining about the heat into something productive and wrote out a post on how I deal with being a carer in a heatwave. :)

Sorry code - missed your earlier posts. Work sounds like an awful place to be for you right now. Hope you can get something better sorted in the very near future!

I wasn't in the Brownies/Guides. Our local scout troop was one of the few that accepted girls (think it's more common now to accept both boys and girls), so I was a scout! Have some fond memories of that myself. The guy who ran it was a really nice guy.

Yep, Scouts is fully mixed now, but Guides is still girl-only (for a variety of reasons).

It's amazing how many people have had some degree of involvement in one or the other organisation (or both) when you start chatting about them.

It's very flexible MU. Everyone is a volunteer and they fully appreciate the fact that people have jobs, families, commitments, health issues, etc. There's so many levels of involvements - from the commissioners that run whole regions, unit helpers who can offer one night a month, people who run occasional workshops (eg. circus skills!), trainers.... and so on. If you were interested I'm sure they'd be able to find you a role that fitted.

Hopefully that doesn't come across as me pressuring you! Just wanted you to know that shifts etc. don't completely rule it out.
No doesn't come across as pressurizing! :) Thanks for the info, it will be something to look into. edit: lol my mum told me her brownie uniform made her look like a sack of spuds (back when it was brown!)

Lambyr-no storm here either! Have the window open, fan on and wearing shorts and a vest top and still too damn hot!

Yep... I'm in gym clothes (which I've changed twice cos of feeling clammy), fan on, window open... and all I have is heat!

I've told E she has to bring cool weather with her, or she's gonna be on the sofa tonight.

    Didn't go down well that...

More hugs for ((((code)))), sorry to hear how bad you're feeling x

Banana and crisp sandwiches? That's just wrong lol! Hell, banana sandwiches by themselves are just wrong! I will start eating more though WaS, as I know they are good for you, and I do sometimes get restless legs at night, and I'm sure I've read they can be good for that, probably because of the Potassium?

I must be one of the most accident prone people ever. Just as my leg bruises were healing up, today I went and fell again! Not just an ordinary slip though, this was a full on comedy slip....long story short, I slipped on a patch of mud, went flying, and ended up horizontal and lying in probably the only damn puddle in the car park! :p Got mud and grass and god knows what all down the side of my face, neck, arm and leg. Opened the car door and the look of horror on my Mam's face "what the hell happened to you?!! Apparently I looked like I'd fallen in a swamp. :o

Then, to finish it off nicely, I chucked a cup of coffee down my front....lovely....

    Awww GG big hugs.

I think some days I need to wear a whole body suit to protect my clothes. I am what we call in my house a slop jack :rotfl:

Can I join the clumsy clot group. I am bad. Always have bruises up my legs and arms but not sure from where? decided to shave my legs this evening. More like shred my legs as a new razor :(

Younger Brother rang me up to say happy birthday and then causally like you do. Drop in that my dad had been trampled by a cow and was at the hospital. Only minor cuts and bruises. And back off up to the farm.

    Yours

    Belated happy birthday to Calley.

You will all be pleased to know I have guaranteed rain by watering my garden. I am currently trying and failing to convince Gitdog that it's too hot and he's too big to be a lapdog.

Faerie, did you get any reassurance today about your rent?

Thanks Calley. :) Think I need one of those bodysuits lol! I don't have a good history with puddles....ever since I fell down a fell, I was going down Catbells, decided I didn't want to get muddy, so avoided the puddle and tripped over a rock and split my head open. Total clutz! :rotfl:

Edit: Just ordered a garden bench, so it's definitely going to rain now! :p

Restless legs can be due to a magnesium deficiency. You can get magnesium tablets from Boots.

This link gives you dietary requirements and food sources, though if due to a Mg deficiency, it's better to treat it with supplementation first, and then stick to dietary sources.

Check any existing medicines you take first though, to exclude any interactions they might have with magnesium supplements; unlikely, but best to check, especially if you take heart medication.
