  • Can all of you Pokemon people catch a charizard for me, please?

Bananas are so good for you, Georgie! My consultant told me to try to eat at least 5 a week to balance my electrolytes. I usually have 1-2 a day, right now I am eating 4 a day because I need the potassium top up.

I think the weather swap might be working, the sun has gone in! Blow on the clouds harder! :rotfl:

Big hugs, Code. I agree with Georgie, can you get a full day at home?

Well, they still haven't even advertised my manager's job so it's unlikely they'll bother to replace someone on maternity leave and our contractor is leaving too. Hello, my name is codemonkey and I will be doing the work of 4 people with no thanks. Can someone prepare the straighjacket for me please? I have a feeling I'll need it.

I love bananas but they're something I buy and then forget to eat. I never think, ' oh I'm hungry, I'll eat a banana.' I'm not sure why that is.

I'm also going to have to do a grocery order 3-4 days earlier than I'd planned because I drank around 5.5 litres of water yesterday!

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but why would water consumption affect your grocery order? Is there a reason you can't have what comes out of the tap? (sorry, that sounds really aggressive when it's typed but I promise that's not how it's intended)

I'm trying not to think about banana and crisp sandwiches  :rotfl:

Code, your employers, or at least the HR department sound rubbish, are they unaware of the situation or just playing dumb? I suppose working in a tiny company like I do this sort of situation is something I've no experience of dealing with, today we have a different situation, 2 people on leave, one ill, our employer left before lunch for an afternoon's cycling and that leaves two of us, so we have to stagger our lunch breaks so someone is actually in the office in case the phone rings / door buzzer goes.

With the office deserted and being in the middle of something dull, I'm looking at package holidays to go to the Italian GP in September :p I normally do holidays by booking everything myself but hotels in Milan are so expensive that weekend due to the tens of thousands of people coming to stay that the cost of going with a tour operator is about the same (though they bus you in from further away to keep the hotel costs down).

The fan is just too loud to sleep through properly. I envy people who can sleep with the TV on and all that.

The ceiling fan I bought has a very quiet motor and on the lowest speed setting, which is about the same as a very gentle breeze, is almost inaudiable, even at night when it's silent outside. I chose it for this reason. I made a mistake at my old house and bought a cheaper one and the motor made a proper whirring / droning noise so I never used it - I'm another that minimal noise will keep awake. If I'm sleeping in my spare room / study due to guests, I can't even leave my server on as even the fans in that keep me awake.

I left the fan running all last night and managed about five hours unbroken sleep, which is less than I need but better than it could have been given the heat.

I'm terrible with noise at night too. I generally fall asleep really easily but then I wake up about half an hour later and every noise for miles around seems huge, and keeps me awake.

I think this was one of the things that made me realise I can't live with other people!
