Until I got into the habit of taking off the fitbit, I used to finish my 10,000 steps just by brushing my teeth. :rotfl:
It took a while [STRIKE]too long[/STRIKE] to realise what was happening.
Now I've got the hang of it, I'm losing weight.Georgiegirl256 wrote: »Which inhaler do you use Pyxis? I'll have to learn how to use that spacer properly, as when I use it on it's own, it makes my mouth sore. So, I don't use it and just rely on my blue ones, which I'm getting through faster than I should, and so I've been called for an asthma review Oopps!
 https://www.asthma.ie/get-help/learn-about-asthma/medicines-treatments/preventercontroller-inhalers.
The brown inhalers (beclomethazone) are preventers. Relying on the blue, preventer inhalers (salbutamol) alone means the asthma is uncontrolled.:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I know, I know
I've tried the rinsing mouth out, before brushing teeth etc, but deep down that was maybe just a coincidence and I'm using that as an excuse as I read about steriods affecting bones etc, and what with my tablets (could be a side effect) and family history of osteoporosis, I stopped using it. Yes, becotide that's it.
:rotfl: @ the teeth brushing fitbit thing GN! D's comment when he put it on his left arm was that he should have out it on his right....dirty boy!:rotfl:

Georgie, the osteoporosis thing really only applies to taking them as pills. The amount in inhalers is very small in comparison, and very localised.
I had an osteoporosis test after being on inhalers for 30years and I had bones that were denser than average for my age.
Diet and weight-bearing exercise are much more important for bone health than not using the small amount of steroid present in inhalers.(I just lurve spiders!)

If someone is ill and can't manage their garden then I'm sure they'll be glad of any help.
The only reason I'd be peeved about it is because I'm able to manage it myself and I'd be like "what you trying to say? My gardens a tip?", but deep down I'd probably be grateful as I'm not a big gardening fan.
My previous next-door neighbour once painted the front of our house to match his own, when we were out.
Now THAT is cheeky!!
This next-door neighbour has mowed our front lawn while he was doing his own. Didn't mind that, I thought it was neighbourly, and did his next time. We also take turns with the dividing hedge at the back.
Great news Pyxis!!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

It's just that I worry as it runs in our family. My nana had it and now my Mam has it, and with it also being a possible side effect of my tablets, I just didn't want to add to it, stupid I know. I think I've just got into a bad habit of just using my blue inhalers.seven-day-weekend wrote: »My previous next-door neighbour once painted the front of our house to match his own, when we were out.

!!
Yes, that is very cheeky! Out of interest, what colour was it and did you like it? Not the point I know but just can't believe the cheek of the guy!
Thinking about it (the weeding), I'd be ok if one side of neighbours did it because I know he's got good intentions and we get on with him, but the other side are a bit miserable and would probably only be doing it to prove a point!
How did it go elsien?0 -
Decided to wait for signs of movement today - it takes him such a long time to get to the front door it's better to wait till he's already up.
I do need to talk to him though because the Japanese knotweed is getting out of hand, which he won't know because he can't see into the garden from inside his house. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

It was magnolia rather than white. We would have preferred white, but the two houses did look nice matching and it saved us doing it, so we just accepted it. Those houses are still both that colour 20 years later, although we have sold ours.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

MU,
you use to be able to do an un-named degree. So you get to pick and choose what courses from the whole set of courses. So you can do a different subject each year.
if you earn less than £21K you get help with fees if its your first degree. They really helped husband when he finished off his.

Calley
Just to confirm, the Open degree, where you can pick and choose whatever modules you like is still available. It's the one I'm doing now. My previous two were focused, but I decided to do a pick and mix for the third one.
A lot of the funding though, sadly, has been removed even for first-time degree students. The grants that were available during my first degree are gone. There's still some limited support available, and I think there are still some funds specifically targeted at students with a disability, but it's not as good as it once was due to the tuition fee changes. Now if I did that, it'd be guaranteed to end up in the bath.
Quick question folks - would you be offended if someone weeded your garden without asking? I was round next door hacking back my bushes from their side (they don't mind, done it before) and because he is unwell the gardens gone to pot and is completely overgrown. So as I've got to go to the tip anyway, I thought while I was there I might as well tidy up a bit till my bags were full. Only now I'm thinking in retrospect it was a bit cheeky and they might not appreciate it. About to go and confess, but if it were you how would you feel? Needs hints on how not to make him feel worse.
My tablet is, allegedly, waterproof so it ending up in the bath isn't necessarily problematic. That said I have never actually tested these claims... :rotfl:
It wouldn't bother me if someone decided to tidy up my garden for me. I'd consider it one less thing on the seemingly never-ending list of chores taken care of!She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0
