Just so as you know, I'm one of those contrary people where the more I'm nagged the less likely I am to do something.
According to parent I've always been an awkward sod.
That's ok! It's your body!
I am concerned for you all, that's all.
And it's such a quick and easy thing to do, to give you, and me, peace of mind.
But, heyho!(I just lurve spiders!)

Morning All,
Well, that went rather ridiculously quickly!! I hope everyone had a good weekend and feels significantly less shattered than me this morning. It was a fun but very busy weekend and I'd really been looking forward to an afternoon nap yesterday, curled up on the settee with IzHe, put a film on and managed to doze for a whole 5 minutes!! Oh well, I've only got a 3 day week this week and then I'm off to a festival so I can do lots of lazing around in a field listening to good bands0 -
Happy Monday Team WaS.
I am mega tired. Didn't sleep very well last night due to stomach issues and now I'm in a grump.
Penguin weight/body issues
I'm in the huff because I can't seem to lose weight. I haven't lost a single pound this year despite the fact that I am doing everything I was doing last year. I've actually gained half a stone. I do at least 14,000 steps each workday (glitchy step counter on phone has me usually between 14-15k and fitbit has more but calculates incidental steps and some arm movements) so it's not lack of exercise and I'm mostly eating under my BMR so I should have lost at least something over 6 months. I'm wondering if it's a hormone issue as this year my skin has majorly broken out with cystic acne (it's seriously worse than when I was a teenager). It's really making me fed up and I'm getting through so much concealer. I probably should ask the doctor but it's so hard getting an appointment and they tend to panic when faced with questions about my medication - my condition is quite rare, especially for someone my age and they really panic when asked questions plus I hate going - I always feel like they think I'm faking or being a nuisance when there are people with actual problems.
On top of that, I'm feeling very middle aged and frumpy which at mid-late 30s seems a bit premature. Considering a visit to the salon to get my hair sorted as I'm sure the massive amount of white hair that is coming in is contributing. end penguin.
Izadora - whenever I see your name I start singing the Wizadora theme tune. Naps are great but I find DA dog to be a better nap partner than Mr CP who is a massive fidget.
Calley - does it have to be a ream box? Could you cover a normal box with wrapping paper or even tie it up with cellophane to make a hamper?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
(((( Code )))) Penguin reply That must be incredibly frustrating, I know how annoyed I get with not losing/putting on weight when it's fully deserved but putting in that much effort with no reward must be awful.
I think you should go and see your doctor. I know that appointments can be difficult but you're not being a nuisance and it is an actual problem so don't ever feel like you're wasting their time. Have you been keeping a detailed food diary? If not then maybe give it a month, listing absolutely everything you eat/drink, and take that with you to show them. There's no guarantee they'll be able to do anything but there's also a chance that they will know what's happening and be able to fix it for you.
Definitely go and get your hair done. I've got a ridiculous amount of grey/white and it's really annoying me. I know that I feel a lot better when I've coloured my hair but I just don't seem to be able to motivate myself to dye it... End penguin.
Sorry about the theme tune thing, I'm only vaguely aware of the programme so don't know what it sounds like but I'm guessing it's pretty annoying.0 -

I take it you've already had all the blood tests for thyroid and the like? Is there any other medication they can put you on? Or is the one you're one the best one for controlling your condition? Deffo go and see the doctors, try a different one if you feel the others didn't take you seriously. It must be so frustrating doing everything right, exercise, eating well etc and yet still not losing weight.
I know you're like me in that you don't like going to the hairdressers, so maybe grab a home dye and do it yourself? If someone like me can manage then anyone can! I use the John Frieda Precision Foam, it's virtually fool proof!

Code, I'm sure you have factored this in, but just in case you haven't, have you been drinking the same amount of alcohol and fizzy drinks/squash, etc?
That just might be what's slowing down/preventing he weight loss.
Also, as your condition is rare, are you under a consultant for it? If so, it might be an idea to write to him/her, even if you are strictly speaking 'discharged' from their care.(I just lurve spiders!)

Code,
the only reason for a ream box is I like to use the lids to make a sort of mini hamper. As they are not too deep.
Hug about the penguin I do understand and its time for me to stop faffing about and sort myself out. I looked at my bank as I was over drawn. yes and most of the low value transaction up to about £5 are my local tesco express and junk food.
I need to get a more flexible I am nearly 44 and feel like a old woman. Maybe yoga or something to help with my bad back as well.
Lambyr yes it is nice that lego man is making time for me before my birthday. He is really sweet I am still struggling with it though. Its nice and easy and he thinks I am nice, confident person. Who is fun and happy to be with. I don't need to fight for his attention or cause an argument to get it. We are off to a farm cafe on wednesday. They make there own ice cream from their own cows milk. And you never know what flavors are going to made from day to day.
Well survived the hospital appointment. First one of the day so no running late. They were happy with hubby. And he got to see his consultant. Normally he sees a registrar of his. See you again 9 months. The only issue is his nasal polyps are back and they are one of the symptoms of the underlying condition that caused the stroke the in the first place. So just have to monitor it.
Anyway not sure what the weather is doing. It can't seem to make up its own mind :rotfl:
I am so hopeless I cut myself on a tent peg yesterday  don't ask :rotfl:
anyway hugs and squishes and handshakes all round. If you see me in the duvet fort asleep give me a shove. As I must not sleep during the day.
Catch you all later
Yours

Calley, I cut myself on a shopping trolley yesterday. Some days I just should not be allowed out of the house!
Penguin to code, re. weight etc...
I'm proper annoyed with it all at the moment too, although in my case it's sheer lack of willpower so I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to know you're doing things right and still not getting results. It's exactly two years since I admitted how much weight I'd gained, and started doing something about it. In the following six months I lost the best part of 2 stone and felt great. I was eating well and exercising loads - the works! Then I've spent the last 18 months eating utter rubbish and I've put it all back on.
Am so very, very annoyed with myself. 2 years on and I'm back where I started - and with the amount I'm managing to stuff myself with it's only going to increase rapidly from here.
Grrr!!

I don't drink much alcohol anymore and I only drink water and pepsi max. Mostly water, so not many calories there.
My medication isn't the best for my condition but I've been through all the others and we're running out of options. So far, this is the only one where I've managed to achieve a balance between pain relief and not being a zombie, but I seem to be able to tolerate the meds for about a year before my body rebels. It does mess with the hormones I think - there are warnings that it messes with birth control pills.
My thyroid, hormone levels etc. were tested a few years ago during the whole fertility thing. The thing is, I've been pushing for so long with the weight loss thing, and the GPs never pay attention - I even got told once that "Fat people often blame their medication".
I saw a neurologist for the condition but because they can't see a reason for it on the scans, there are few surgical options and there's not much they can do. All the specialists are in England anyway. She was very heavily pregnant when I saw her so she's probably on maternity leave.
It's just frustrating that I'm doing the right things and still not losing weight. I'm in the overweight part of the BMI chart and maybe I have to accept that I'm stuck there for now.
I dye my own hair, but it grows back so fast, I need to do it every 3 weeks and that's annoying. So I'm hoping that if I get highlights or something, it'll blend in a bit better.
Calley - if you have back problems, Pilates might be a better option as it focuses more on core strength, taking pressure off your back. I may have to find a class myself.
Izadora - it's not the worst theme tune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXUYBqmuJW0Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
