I have just been talking to my exneighbour who now rents out next door.
The noise and nuisance a few months back? That'll be the 14 people in the 3 bedroom house who the tenants sublet to while they were away.
I thought they were just having a lot of visitors. Unobservant, me?:oAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Ahh, I shall check that out.
And for WaS, to prove that I'm not the city building genius I may appear, feast your eyes on this!
I'm not entirely sure what the worst part of this is. Is it that these numpty-goggles have managed to block one side of a six-lane carriageway for no obvious reason? Is it that a taxi appears to have been crushed by a bus? Is it that nobody has any idea what lane they should be in? Or perhaps it's that at least two cars appear to have emerged from the subway (the cream-coloured dome with the criss-cross pattern)? She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
Hi guys, I'm freaking out about my tenuous tenancy again.. My landlord has changed to a different agency who don't tolerate people on HB, and he is going to finally fix the sewage problem, but I know he will evict me , as the surveyors words are ringing in my head when they evaluated my flat as £1000 PCM and he told me that my landlord had said that when he finally does pay out for the sewage, he plans to evict me. My rent is £700 and HB only pay £650. I had been pushing this new agency to issue me a years contract so that I could have some housing security, and have a break from the fear of eviction, but the agency yesterday told me that my landlord wants me on a rolling contract so that he has a "quick get out clause"... This fear of eviction has been festering for months now, and I am now so terrified of losing my home.. I will never to be able to rent in my city again as rents are as high as london, and it is impossible to get a ground floor council flat on band B. I have noone to fall back on.. my 2 friends that helped me in the past.. one I cut contact with recently, and the other who was my guarantor and helped me with my last deposit and was my best friend for 25 years, , has pushed me away since he moved back to my city and made it clear that he no longer wants to be my "friend family", he's just so horrible to me these days, so critical, looks down at me and is always angry and doesn't want to spend any time with me.. Last week he told me that the subjects of housing worries, anything to do with mental health and the bpd centre, anything to do with health were all banned subjects to talk about and that I can no longer ask him favours for anything.
He used to make me feel a bit of security,as he always did have my back, but that has gone now.. I know my mental health can't take a homeless bout, I'm in the pit of depression. . I am terrified of having to give my cats away and ending up in a B and B with addicts as I was in in my 20's and I never got over that, and haunted by my last eviction 5 years ago, and the council refused to help me. .. I think feeling so unsafe about my health and housing too, it is way too much feeling unsafe, and I know both of those worries are what are causing my terrible insomnia, and now the housing threat is getting more and more real and it is only a matter of time til the eviction letter falls on my doormat. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0 -
(((faerie))) I don't know much (well, anything) about the practicalities / legalities of your situation, but (fwiw), I am sending big hugs your way.
Can you speak to shelter, CAB or similar for help? There's a local group here (run by a group of churches but very much open to everyone) who help with housing issues - is there anything similar where you are?
Remember, you can also always call Samaritans. They can't fix the problems, but they will always listen and sometimes that in itself is a lifeline when the anxiety kicks in.

Faerie, what might enable you to feel a little bit more in control is if you start to have a look round and view some places to rent, just to see what is available.
You never know, you might just find somewhere before you actually need to, and it might be better!
In addition, there might be Housing Associations out there who might be sympathetic. Just doing the research now might help you feel that you are in charge of the situation a bit more.
Do you absolutely have to stay in the town you are in? Would it be at all possible to move to somewhere cheaper? I don't mean move to a worse area, but to a cheaper part of the county or even a different part of the country?
Forgive me if you have already answered these types of suggestions before. Memory like a sieve.
I'm just thinking that preparing before the event might actually come up trumps, and you may never need to actually move, but if you do, you would have done all the work, crystallised your thoughts and be mentally prepared.(I just lurve spiders!)

(((( Faerie )))) Sorry, I don't have any practical advice but I'm sure things will work out somehow.
(((( WaS )))) If I could invent a hot water bottle which soothes your aches and simultaneously cools you down you'd be the first person to have one. Sorry, chocolate will have to do for now.
Elsien, how did they even fit that many people in the house? Are the tenants who sublet the place still there or do you have someone more reasonable now?
Does anyone have any good tips, which don't include gargling, on how to get rid of a sore throat and stuff nose quickly? I felt a bit ropey yesterday and have woken up today feeling like I've been eating razor blades. I don't feel ill enough to take time off work, and would probably only end up tackling the ironing and other bits in the flat if I stayed home, but really don't want to get any worse as IzHe's already worried that I'm going to be too run down to enjoy the weekend.0 -
Izadora, Coldzyme throat spray might help to mop up the germs, as might First Defence nose spray.
You could also try Propolis lozenges.
To be honest, in my experience, there's no quick fix, but the above might help a bit.
Otherwise, the usual....paracetamol, lots of hot drinks, icecream to soothe, rest as much as poss., etc.
Halls Extra Strong are foul, but really do help to unstuff the nose.(I just lurve spiders!)

Is gargling a definite no? I do find a quick squish round with a soluble aspirin helps. If that's out, you could try First Defence. I've used it a couple of times - once it seemed to work, once it didn't, but worth a try.
Otherwise just the general - lots of drinks, some paracetamol, get sweaty if you can face it (I swear it helps).0
