Thanks Georgie. I think it went well.

Well done on the cycling. I don't think I've been on a bike since I was 20. Do you have the padded shorts?

Oh yes! Felt like I was wearing a nappy and tbh, I still got a sore backside....although not as bad as last time! When it got harder going up a hill my thoughts were "just think of how toned your legs are going to be?", when in reality, I think it'll take more than a few bike rides on the cycle path! :rotfl:

Sounds promising about your interview, fingers crossed! :)

Apart from that - death to all pensions schemes. (Trying to deal with autoenrolment for my employees! Sodding govt putting too much pressure on small employers!)
Think we get that next April, we are in the very last batch of companies and no danger of it happening here any sooner than right at the last minute, though our office administrator is already ready.

So, 25 years after I started working here we'll have a company pension scheme

Code, when I was writing my reply to your post about putting on weight despite dieting, I had a memory of some research suggesting that artificial sweeteners can interfere with your metabolism in such a way as to result in weight gain. Then this morning, I heard on the radio about exactly that again.

If you have switched to lots of low-cal drinks and foods that have no added sugar, but artificial sweeteners instead, that might be contributing to the problem.

Have been out 'til now, so haven't had a chance to look it up, but will do tomorrow.

    Worth thinking about, anyway.

thanks waves.. I'm not surprised it tipped you into psychosis.. they say it's up there in the top 3 most difficult life events., and that's just moving, not facing homelessness on top.
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

We are at our static caravan holiday home in North Wales and I have just seen a badger in the garden, rooting around and grubbing up the bark (which we laid in part of the garden), eating the pitta bread I'd put out for the birds :) I'm delighted,, I've never seen a live one in the wild before. Hope he comes again!!

In response to other posts - moving is very very stressful and must be even more so if your tenure is uncertain, your mental and/or physical health is fragile or you are disabled, and you have no money. I hope you all manage to get somewhere suitable where you can stay long term. Wish I could help in some way :(

(I think there are two main reasons why private landlords don't want to rent to people on Benefits. One is that their insurance company will not allow it. The other is, if they have a mortgage to pay, then they need that rent money, and Benefits can sometimes be delayed for months, which means the tenant can't pay the rent, then they can't pay their mortgage. I don't know what the answer is, other than to build more social housing, but I really don't think that is going to hapepn).

(((( Code )))) Have a duvet that's been in the freezer - snuggly and cool all at the same time.

(((( Faerie )))) I know it must be horribly scary at the moment but try not to panic too much. As others have said, if you can try to get something put in place now then it won't be as big a problem if you do have to find somewhere else.

Georgie, well done on the bike riding. I'm really not a big fan but have hired bikes on holiday the past couple of years. This year the only one they had which were the right height for me were electric ones and I decided that I much prefer them - overtaking IzHe when we were going up hills was great fun :D

D said that's the only way he would get on a bike again! :p Looks like it's going to be a more regular thing as my uncle declared that I should leave my bike at theirs "just in case" :rotfl:

That heart-stopping moment when you reply to an email and then realise it wasn't from the person you thought it was from :eek:

Fortunately no harm done but will definitely be more careful in future, my nerves can't take it!
