I was looking for a very basic French course as am having a proper panic about a solo work trip in a couple of months. Instead I signed up for:
1) Disability and a Good Life: Working with Disability
2) Social Wellbeing
Both sort of work-related, and
3) Moons

While I am getting stuff done at work, my productivity is a bit down today, too distracted by the Guardian's rolling reshuffle reporting and Laura Kuenssberg's twitter on the same.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

Oooh, that looks fascinating. I've still got all my astronomy books from when I was a child and still find it really interesting - keep thinking about buying a telescope with a motorised equatorial mount to try astro-photography but then also think "and where is the time for this coming from?"Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230

Same here with the political distractions - it's pretty mesmerising (not necessarily in a good way!) Although to be fair, I'm supposed to be writing an audit checklist so anything is distracting right now
Also same here with the free time issue ono... if only I had the 50+ hours a week I spend working or commuting, I'd have some great hobbies!0 -
Hey everyone,
I know sometimes I probably sound like a dippy teenager in her first romance, but E can be so sweet.
This week I have been afflicted by a mouth ulcer in the most annoying of places. Whatever it's doing, it's also managing to make the entire side of my face ache like I've taken three spinning heel kicks to the jaw and head. I guess maybe it's pressing on a nerve or something?
Anyway so I've not been getting much sleep, even less than usual. Weds night is the night E comes round but given my zombification and pain which was at its worst yesterday (partly why I spent half the day rambling away on threads here, cos I couldn't focus on productive things) I called her up yesterday. She asked whether I still wanted her to come round and I said I did but I doubt I'd be good company cos I didn't even feel capable of driving to the store to pick up painkillers.
She comes here on her break to drop off painkillers and Corsodyl.
Then when she's finished work she comes back with food (and some other bits and bobs) as she figured I hadn't eaten. She gave me a massage as well cos she said ulcers can be caused by stress so she wanted to help me unwind.
Thanks to the painkillers, I actually managed to get a decent sleep. She even left me sleeping and got up before me to take the dog for a walk, made mum her breakfast and then brought me a coffee so she could have it with me before she had to shoot off to work again.
I really don't deserve her.She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
