Pink grapefruit is like ordinary grapefruit but can be a bit less sharp. The cans of Gin and Pink must have other stuff in as well, because when I tried making my own from gin and separate pink grapefruit juice, it didn't taste the same.

I like bitter and sour flavours!
Speaking of grapefruit does anyone else have weird food/medication interactions? I apparently can't eat grapefruit as it interferes with how my mood stabilser gets into my system :o

I can't eat grapefruit either as it increases the dosage of medication in my blood. I used to eat a lot of grapefruit many years back before I realised. I say realised, I read it online, but really that is something the doctors should have told me, but they didn't.

Finally got round to buying a new mattress, just got one of the ones like we got for the spare room (as that is very comfy) so hopefully that will be ok. Chuffed I remembered to find a promo code and saved £32! :j

seven-day-weekend, wishing you well with the family history endevours, my mum is very very into family history and has managed to go quite a fair way back, but she keeps finding people going by different names, being born in places they weren;t meant to be and various other confusions :p I don;t have anything to do with my biological dad so that side of family history is largely unknown, but at least i have my mums side

everyone-thanks for teh congratulations, my memory is so bad i can;t even remember serving said mystery shopper...im just glad it was on a good day and not when i was zoned out from my meds!

ww- sorry ER is still is hospital, hopefully they get better soon, and sorry littlewing is upset at moving schools/classes. would it be possible to have a word with a teahcer about the classes? try and tell her its not a bad thing, she will still see her friends and this way she might get to make new friends too :)

lambyr- well done! hope you're feeling proud of yourself! :j

Pyxis, sorry about your recent scare, i have duely checked the twins and they seem ok :) Swain;s mum had breast cancer and a masectomy and she is so matter of fact about it. I tink i know where Swain gets his relaxed attitude from, that woman lets nothing phase her. I'm so glad you got the all clear!

code- things i wshed i knew at 18:
-drinking can be fun, but know your limits. one more drink may make the difference between a great night and one you regret (also enjoy the lack of hangovers whilst they last :p ) also make sure you have a big glass of water before bed!
-its ok to not know what you want to do in life at 18, you have plenty of time to figure it out
-if you get a bf/gf, don;t neglect your friends, they are the ones who will be there for you if it all goes pear shaped

    MU,

you use to be able to do an un-named degree. So you get to pick and choose what courses from the whole set of courses. So you can do a different subject each year.

if you earn less than £21K you get help with fees if its your first degree. They really helped husband when he finished off his.

    yours

    Calley

    Yes, that's right!

By the way, Georgie, it was probably in the important notes that come with the medication.
Apologies if you did read the notes, but I can't stress enough how important it is to read them and to hang on to them.

I always read all the notes in all medication I take, and it wasn't in there. When my Dad was on Warfarin, it had on the prescription sheet not to have cranberries or cranberry juice, so you think they'd do the same with other medications and interactions too.

That's strange, because I have seen it on some drug notes.

In that case, perhaps you should tell your GP and pharmacist and ask them to report it.

    From WiKi.....grapefruit/drug interactions.....
"This happens in two ways. One is that grapefruit can block an enzyme which metabolizes medication.[2] If the drug is not metabolized, then the level of the drug in the blood can become too high leading to an adverse effect.[2] The other effect is that grapefruit can block the absorption of drugs in the intestine.[2] If the drug is not absorbed, then not enough of it is in the blood to have a therapeutic effect.[2

One whole grapefruit, or a glass of 200 mL (6.8 US fl oz) of grapefruit juice can cause drug overdose toxicity.[13][14]"
