Hey lovelies,
Faerie, so sorry (and rather miffed) to hear what you had to put up with today. Some people just don't get it. I don't have a disability as such but I do have a weakness in my leg from a previous injury. It means that though I can walk about and most of the time I don't limp, I can't lift particularly heavy things, standing on my leg for a long time without moving it causes me significant discomfort and I can't run. I've had people insist that I'm fine to do such and such, and I'm really not. I wish I was! There's a step into my house and I get embarrassed having to ask the Tesco man (tend to get a different one each time) to put the groceries on the inside cos I can't lift the crate if it's full into my house.
But that's it, people assume if you're not in a wheelchair and you're not elderly that you can do everything they can. Sometimes we can't, and we all wish we could. When I was younger, I used to do kickboxing, play hockey and lots of other activities that I can't now and it's really quite hurtful when someone judges another. I wouldn't dream of it. If someone tells me they can't do something, I accept that they can't do it without question. It's not my place to tell them what they can and can't do.
I'd definitely escalate your complaint with Asda. Even if that numpty driver is going to lie about what he did and said, it can't hurt to remind companies that their employees represent their company and some consideration toward others goes a long way. I'd also tell them I'd be taking my business elsewhere but I don't know if it's practical for you to do that.
Anyway, just wanted to show a little support for you. Hope you're feeling better about it soon.
I've spent the evening chatting with a friend on TeamSpeak while building a city in Cities: Skylines. I say city, it's currently got a population of about 13,000 but it's a start! I've got three districts, and it seems the people in my city really like their pizza!
Had difficulty focusing on anything today. Brain's a bit of a mush cos I've had a couple of less than ideal nights' sleep. Poor E had to put up with me last night. So I was actually sorta impressed with myself in a sad little way that I managed to focus for four hours on my city. :rotfl:She would always like to say,

Hello Wellyboots!
Sorry I missed you last night!
Been missing the piglet in his red boots!
Am annoyed because I can't get my photos onto my iPad to send you. I bought a new tiny camera just before I came away, and hadn't set up the wifi for it, to enable me to transfer my pics. When I went to do that yesterday, I realised I'd left a crucial thing at home, so I can't get the app I need. Grrrrrrr!
I don't want to lug my iPad around with me, to take photos; that was the whole point of getting the tiny camera! So you may have to wait till I get back! (I wanted to send you the pic of the storks on the nest!)
Having said that, I may be able to take the odd photo with the iPad!
Anyway, must go and shower now! Off to the caves today!(I just lurve spiders!)

Morning campers,
Hugs and squishes and handshakes to all today.
A special wave to Welly, HBS, MU and Melly.
faerie what a rude driver. I know the feeling as my husband is 10 years old than me. And of course I drive and he has a blue badge. The looks we get. I remember one time this person walked from their car and came and looked to see if we had a badge. I felt like holding the badge in my hand and waving it to all and sundry and shouting at the top of my voice. Yes we do have a blue badge :rotfl:
Strange day today. Did a favor for my lodger took him 25 miles to take his car in for some work. had to go back to the place he bought it. That meant 1) getting up early  2) I had to drive past my ex's house and place of work. And I can't believe what emotions it triggered for me today. I am still feeling a bit teary and unsettled.
Penguin ED
I am not sure if I should be worried about my lodger. He rarely eats. And yesterday he had virtually nothing and had been out on a long walk with a friend and his daughter and then came back in the evening and went out for another walk of about 3-4 miles.
He did come back and have some soup. He has lost weight and had to buy new clothes. he said about not wanting to cook or eat meals at home as he did not want to put the weight back on.
To me that is heading towards an eating disorder as thats not normal.
I told him that as well. But then his whole life is one big massive mess. He claims not to be hungry. He does have something to eat when at work. On his days off he never seems to eat.
He does on the odd occasion get a portion of chips from up the road.
I know its not my circus not my monkeys.
Penguin end
well its a nice day here today. So not sure what I am going to do. I did cut the grass back and front yesterday but as it was so hot had to leave it until nearly 8pm.
I think I was born in the wrong era. I should have been born during the victorian times when it was ok to be pale and interesting :rotfl:
everyone take care

calley,
When I was employed and single, it was far easier to have proper food at work.
My DH could do without eating for a whole day in summer weather.
Is it possible lodger is eating when you have gone to bed? That's what DH does sometimes.
I guess if it is really unhealthy for him then he will start getting recurrent infections.
See how he is at end July if nothing else has cropped up in the interim and provided he is drinking plenty of fluids (not alcohol).
Encourage him to see if GP if you have niggling concerns.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Morning All,
Pyxis - I hope you have enjoy the caves and take lots of photos. Although it's annoying that your camera's not set up yet enjoy the fact that it's tiny. I could really do with getting a new one because mine's quite chunky but I don't use it enough to justify the expense.
Elsien - I hope parent's okay and that relaxing with mojitos made up for the falls. Good luck with the public transport and don't feel bad for being bored. As good as I am at doing nothing but lying by a pool with a book I still have to be able to get out and about and have some variety to my day to enjoy it fully.
WaS - I hope WaSp is feeling a bit better and the new meds make him less dizzy. It's good that the social workers are looking into Millefleur's care as well, hopefully that's a weight off your minds.
Lambyr - 4 hours!! I don't think I can concentrate on anything for that long so well done!!
Calley - It's understandable that you're worried but unfortunately there's not really anything you can do.
Faerie - You should definitely take it further with Asda. There's never any justification for being that rude and ignorant and they should be made aware of how bad a reflection on their company that driver is.
I hope everyone's looking forward to the bank holiday. I could really do with three days of having a rest as I've been on the go a lot this week (my slightly obsessive need to clean carried over from the weekend and I've also made it the gym a couple of nights) but it's not going to happen. We've got OH's sister, along with her OH and their two children, coming up tomorrow and staying for a couple of days and I'm doing overtime on Monday. Oh well, I've got less than two weeks until I'm on holiday and the overtime is coming in very handy for spending/holiday clothes money.
Now I'm off to google to find out how to say "I'm not a turtle" in Greek0 -

he was talking about running away if his on off gf dumped him. But since there little chat he has said nothing more to me.
So who knows. He has so much baggage. He has no idea how to handle money. Spent £80 on a tv he did not need. Then talks about borrowing money off of someone. Sadly people like that never learn. As long as people keep bailing them out. And be rest assured I wont be bailing him out.
He is like a lost puppy today. As has no car. Told him before get a hobby etc. But nope. Expects me to entertain him and follow me round like a little lost sheep. Does my head in :rotfl:
Got an entire weekend of this. Guess who is going to spending rather a lot of time at my husbands LOL!!!!

Does he know your husband? Could you take him along to your husband's? Maybe he would benefit from thinking about someone else.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. WW,
I want to get away from my lodger not spend more time with him .
He could do with thinking about others. When I mentioned about my husband volunteering. his reply was I would never work for free
If he is really that bored I have loads of things he could give me hand with. But nope. So can't be that bored. I asked if he had still been at home what would he be doing on his days off and evenings. His answer watching telly LOL!!!
