Tea.. Ha Ha!! :) And good to hear that sexism is dwindling :).
Izadora.. I've never been in a pod, but I'm sure it will have a button to lift the lid. Most float centres now, though offer cabin/ float rooms, because a lot of claustrophobic people are put off from floating, so the cabins offer and great alternative to the pods.

    Sorry I haven't posted much!

When I was able to get online, I was servicing my Guess Where I Am thread! They've guessed now, and I've got a free afternoon, as I opted out of today's hike.
Did one yesterday, and the distance was fine, but there was a lot of long, slow uphill stuff, which killed me, but I just managed it. (Am unfit at present due to loads of minor illness over the last few months). Today's one was going to be even more long, slow uphill stuff, so I decided to opt out, especially as I'm still not feeling 100%. Luckily better than I felt on Monday and Tuesday, when travelling!

    Am quite chesty, though.:(
Still, the singing's good. Some of the group I met before on other singing holidays! Couldn't remember their names, though! Others I'd not seen before.

Tomorrow we're going into Aracena to see some deep caves, and then we'll look around the town. Then in the evening in this village, one of the bars is hosting a flamenco concert!

On Saturday, there is a Romeria in the next village.... A festival, with lots of music, songs and dance, so we're going to that. We might even do some singing ourselves! We've already learned a few short songs in parts, and they sound pretty good!

On the church tower is a stork's nest, and have seen the two storks standing by the nest and in flight. Have a new tiny camera, and haven't yet read up on how to do the wifi thing, but hopefully I'll be able to get the photos on the iPad and post them on here!

We also saw a huge flock of vultures! And heard a nightingale!

    Ola from Portugal.
Activities on hold as parent fell over twice on day 1 . And that was before the mojitos. I have overlooked basic sun sense and now look like a lobster. Which is silly and I really should know better.
Braving public transport tomorrow as it's a quiet resort and I'm starting to get bored already -.i know that sounds bad when I'm lucky enough to have been able to get away but I find doing things much more relaxing.

My usual, very nice asda delivery man has been replaced by a by a horrible asda delivery driver, who refused to bring my shopping in because he I don't look disabled, therefore I'm not.. He told me I was too young.. where was my wheelchair..I told him to read up about invisible disabilities, that I have a care agency and it's my car outside in the disabled space with the blue badge, but he didn't believe me.and argued the toss, getting angry and raising his voice.. . He then compared me to other customers that " pull a fast one" to blag disability because they are too lazy to get their shopping, and ranted about benefit scroungers. .. He refused to give me his name, refused to let me sign electronically, and stormed out, but when I reported him, he , of course, denied it to the manager. Don't these people realise how humiliating it is to be berated for being lazy and disbelieved, and that being disabled is hard enough in itself. The reason why I shop online is because I can't lift and carry groceries.

I think every time I get this disability hate speech it triggers all the times I've experienced disability hate over the years, from what my neighbours upstairs put me through last year, to my ex neighbour at my old flat who harassed and stalked me. It is always hard to report it for fear of repercussions.
If I was an old lady or in a wheelchair it would be so different. It saddens me that. I hate being so ill and disabled at my age,and I hate the abuse that comes with this. :(
Also, it highlights how things like this wouldn't happen if I wasn't here alone.

Hello holiday people! Lovely to hear from you both, I hope the rest of the week is wonderful for you!

That's horrid, Faerie. Did you know you can take the complaint further to management if you need to? I had a complaint with Asda once which I escalated. That resulted in the store manager himself dropping my shopping off with a huge bunch of flowers for me. They tend to be understanding if you can get to management level.

Poor Wasp is having problems with his blood pressure again which is making him very dizzy so that has temporarily put paid to any visits to Milliefleur because he can't drive like this. He has the same weird blood pressure thing that I do that is hard to control. Mine is stable now on two pills, WaSp is on three and it is still unstable. He has a new pill to try today so we are really hoping it works, the poor man can't even bend over or reach up without the world spinning. I worry about him.

faerie, don't letb delivery man undo all your brilliant recent work.

    Poor WaSp.

What is happening with millefleur at the moment then WaS? Did you speak with any social workers or anyone.

I spoke to my social worker on Monday who repeated that WaSp's role is as my carer as we agreed (said rather forcefully!). She will contact Milliefleur's social worker and I am not to worry anymore about it apparently. Milliefleur did try to get WaSp to visit a couple of times but he can't even manage his usual one visit a week right now due to his spinning head, driving would be dangerous.

My social worker asked me if I needed her to speak to WaSp to which I said no because she would have told him off in her bubbly bulldozer way and he is already suffering with enough guilt. She didn't know how little time BIL was spending with Milliefleur so she will discuss it with her social worker. Now it is a question of waiting to see what social services decide but she was adamant that nothing in my care plan should be changed..

WaS, I'm glad the bulldozer is sorting things! Phew!
Sorry to hear about WaSp, though.let's hope, the new pill works!

Elsien, thanks for reminding me about the turtle! I'd forgotten!

I've started picking up a few words in Spanish! Not many people in this village speak English. I keep wishing I could practice my Italian, and it's frustrating! Ok, a lot of words are similar, but an awful lot aren't!

I'll try to say the Spanish turtle thing tomorrow! :D
