    Go to a film?

    Theatre trip?

Historic house or garden place with a nice tearoom and healthy choice?

Does she like reading - if so a look at the book people could give you some good choices at a very low price. They have some Mary Berry books, aprons, china etc as well as her books.

How about a fancy appropriately named rosebush to plant in her garden?

    Sorry

The bit about trips out was not there when I read your post.

Nice handbag or purse by a good make?

Is there anything that she enjoys as a hobby?

She hasn't been to the cinema in years - last film she saw was Ghost. Theatre and daytrips are out because of health issues. She doesn't like to read much and gets all the books she wants from the library.

I got her a Rosebush last year and there's no space in the garden for another one :(

All good suggestions if my mum wasn't so difficult. :rotfl:

Hmmm, maybe I could do a framed photo or canvas of the area she grew up in. I've already done something similar though.

My Mam is the same age, so I know how hard it is, because they don't want any more ornaments etc either, and so when it comes to presents, I usually end up buying her a handbag, a purse or a scarf (she loves scarves and has them in all different colours and designs), not a winters one, but a lightweight more summery one.

M&S are a good source for these things and I've got my Mam many an item off there. What about this purse! http://www.marksandspencer.com/leather-tab-purse-with-cardsafe/p/p22434617?prevPage=plp

Also, my Mam is into Radley. It all started when a friend of hers got her a bus pass holder! Even though the handbags themselves are really expensive, the accessories and smaller foldaway bags make great presents, and will come in really handy now that you have to pay for carriers.

Edit: This kind of thing. http://www.radley.co.uk/apples-and-pears-foldaway-tote/ Plenty of other designs too. :)

Mine too. She's generally pretty easy to buy for anyway but I was so pleased when her Radley obsession started - I've now bought her a purse, passport holder, umbrella, tote bag and handbag. Someone also got her a Radley watch as a retirement present :D

Over the years I've bought her 2 handbags from there (got good deals off debenhams website, but they don't seem to sell them anymore?), a purse, 2/3 foldaway totes which she loves as they easily pop into her handbag, a keyring and a mirror.

Makes her a lot easier to buy for! :rotfl:
  • Hold onto your hats, a miracle has happened. I am in the Support Group of ESA for the next 2 years! The actual decision maker called me! He said they didn't receive the form from the medical centre at all so he asked for an email copy and then immediately made the decision and called me straight away. I fell over myself thanking him and he said, it's ok it only took a few minutes to make the decision. I may have spluttered slightly, almost 5 months, lost forms and waiting times for a decision that took him a few minutes!

I won't hear from them for reassessment before 27 April 2018. I can breathe!
