  • Penguin for Fly You don't have to measure grief against people's roles, whatever you feel is fine and as it should be. You know, I grieve for my cat more than I do for a lot of people I have lost, it isn't wrong, there are no rules. I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend. If you can't make the wedding that is ok, tomorrow is your special day to remember however you see fit, you need to do what feels right for you. Have a flysquish and I hope you remember the happy times today with a smile.End penguin

Fly- ((((hugs)))) i'm sorry for your loss. I dont have anything to do with my bio dad and one day i'm probably going to be in the same position you are now.

Melly- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :j so happy for you!

JM-i read about Sally today :( i'm so sad she lost her fight with the black dog, but she did some amazing things to help people and raise awareness of MH and maybe we need to remember the wonderful things she did.

faerie- best of luck with the BPD center, i really hope its helpful for you, i know its probably scary, but this a huge step and you should be proud f yourself for taking it :)

WaS, i'm sorry you're feeling so unwell. Addisons sounds horrible to deal with :( one of my meds has the added side effect of making me more susceptable to heatstroke, ive had so many drinks today as i felt so ill. But i cant imagine having that feeling all the time. :( I hope the steroids help and ease your symptoms. As for staying cool, i seem to have my desk fan on constantly atm :o

WaS, during those awful heat waves, I used to put all my clothes in the freezer, especially underclothes.

Ok, they soon warmed up once put on, but for those few minutes when first put on, the coolness was bliss.

I also, used to fill a couple of hot water bottles with very cold water and have those in bed.

Plus those gel pads you have under the sheet. A large one for the mattress and a small one for the pillow. (They're not cheap, though).

The best thing of all, though, was the aircon machine. Heavy, ugly and bulky, and a bit noisy, but when we get those hot, humid nights, I love it to bits. (They're pricey too, though.) (Proper aircon, though, not just a cooler. I'm not sure coolers are all that effective - not heard very good things about them).

WaS - wise words as ever. thank you.

I am up and going and could be feeling worse. The sun is shining and I am trying to focus on the fact that some of my friends are getting married today and everyone will be happy and I should learn to feed off of that, not let it be a backdrop reflection to make my own bad feelings seem darker (which I think is my normal way of doing things)

    MU - {squishy pants}

Faerie - Big bag of super duper {squishes} ready and waiting by the front door for you to take with you today. Super good luck.

As for staying cool - I carry a teeny water spritzer bottle with me - makes me very very popular on the tube in London in the summer. Also great for spraying into the fan flow when laying in bed at night.

Unbelievable. The health centre sent my ESA form back to the DWP on the 28th April for their final decision. The DWP have either lost it or didn't receive it. They agree that this is ridiculous so are going to ask the health centre to email them another copy of it now and will call me back within 3 hours. I am just speechless. This is doing nothing for the adrenaline stress levels!

Good luck for today faerie, hope all goes well :)

WaS, hope it's a bit cooler for you today and you start to feel better and more comfortable soon. A thought popped into my head about this spray bottle I saw in America, and a quick google brought this up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Spray-Mist-Fan-Cooling-Holiday-Travel-Portable-Hand-Pocket-Bottle-Office-/141622622286?hash=item20f95db84e:g:AHAAAOSw7aBVGnz0

Fly, must be a very hard day for you. :( Hope you have a lovely day at the wedding though.

Challenge time Team WaS. My mum's birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to buy her.

She'll be 77. She doesn't drink, is pre-diabetic so shouldn't have sweets, doesn't watch dvds or listen to music, hates the idea of vouchers as a gift, has plenty of jewellery and perfume and at least 2 of my siblings and 3 of my other family members will bring her flowers.

    Budget is £50 or thereabouts.

    Go!

    :rotfl:

Eta: theatre tickets and afternoon tea is also out as my dad isn't up to it and gets separation anxiety if she's away from him for too long. And she's not the spa type.

Good luck Faerie, I hope today goes well.

(((((Fly))))) I hope you have a good time at the wedding.

WaS - I hope it cools down for you, even though I love summer. If I could invent something which transferred any sunshine above a pleasant autumn day from you I would!!

    Melly - gorgeous kitty.

Code - That's definitely a challenge!! Are there any clothes she likes but wouldn't justify buying for herself?

    Izzy - nope. She's impossible.

Melly - kitten is impossibly cute. Do you have one of her and tomcat?

WaS, perhaps you need to move to Scotland. It's freezing here today.
