WaS That is brilliant and must be such a relief. Much cooler here today.

    WaS - that's fabulous news!!

It seems a bit sucky that you have to do it every 2 years though, surely they should be able to put something in place which means it just carries on indefinitely rather than having to be reviewed all the time.

Great news WaS. It's turning into a good news week.

I made a photo collage of my mum's hometown which will be printed onto canvas. That'll have to do.

So, I have this stupid rule that on Fridays I'm allowed to buy a bag of crisps or a sweet from the shop at work if nobody is in the office. I don't know why the office has to be empty but that's the rule. I really want chocolate but the last remaining people are chatting nonsense about football and won't go home! Grrr.

My parents are staying - have been here since Wednesday so I'm in the spare room - and we're going to watch speedway this evening.

As for presents, I have to ask people to tell me what they want, I'm hopeless at choosing things for people (so no ideas I'm afraid code)

    WaS, great news!

Waves.. that's brilliant news!! .. must be a weight off your mind..benefit stress is awful. Melly.. you're cat is so cute :)

I started at Mental Health School today.. I'm officially the new kid on the block :) I met my key worker, she seemed nce.. very boundaries, but I expected that for a bpd/trauma place. The centre seems peaceful.. it's strange as I worked there in the 90's when it was a general MH centre, doing ear acupuncture.. It is a lovely building with a pretty garden, and they even have a sensory room that you can go to to "self soothe" , if it is free.. they had bean bags and a big teddy bear and colouring books.. my inner child went mad for it! I see my key worker every 2 weeks for an hour, but you always see them with another member of staff, apparently, so you don't get too attached to 1 person. There are a couple of peer support groups, a really nice art and craft room, they do yoga, cooking, drumming , gardening.. all a bit too physical for me at the mo, they run therapy courses like STEPPS and Schema Therapy, which I would like to do eventually, and they have a cafe, and trips out.. it's all very well thought out, and it does feel like a safe place.. I feel a combo of hopeful and anxious, I did feel very socially phobic but I'm going to be gentle with myself and adjust gently to expanding my comfort zone further than my flat..I'm sure it will challenge me in lots of ways, dynamics/patterns etc.. but I'm def up for the challenge though :)I am so utterly relieved that my half a decade freeze out is finally over.. I can't quite believe it!

Faerie, that sounds great! I'm so pleased for you!

    WaS that's great news! :)

Was browsing on gogroupie (there was a vacumn for your pets on there that attracted my attention :p ) and came across this https://www.gogroopie.com/deal/1at0uylebn/_All_Seasons__Cool_Gel_Memory_Foam_Pillow_with_Cover

Hope you had a lovely time at Speedway ono!

Code, I'm sure your Mum will love that canvas! :)

Melly, try and eat a little bit more if you can. You need to be strong and healthy for your new job!

  • What a lot of great news for one day!

Congrats Melly, I'm made up to hear about the new job. It's so demoralising having to scrimp and go without so I'm happy you now have a light at the end of this particular tunnel.

A massive sigh of relief for WaS too. I could be tempted to go off on an political rant here but the important thing is that it's now sorted and you are OK. After all you've been through, definitely treat yourself to a little something if the budget allows : )

Faerie, I'm so pleased you are being taken seriously and are finally getting the help you need. You're so helpful to people here and you deserve to get that kind of support in RL.
