Could you make up some salted, sugared weak squash in a plastic bottle, leaving some space at the top, and put it in the freezer. Then you can take it out and drink from it as it melts. Make sure you don't cold burn your hands on the bottle.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Faerie Thinking of you for tomorrow.
WaS The weather is supposed to be getting cooler at the weekend. Can you put your feet in a bowl of cool water? The other thing I would say is run cool water over your wrists and put a cool cloth on the back of your neck.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Put on your big girl pants and phone macmillan (explaining that you don't have cancer!) and ask them about the cold gel cooling cap and whether they think it may work for you and how you would get hold of one to try.

Aw, thank you Faerie, I am sorry to hear that you have similar problems.
That's an idea, whitewing! I am living off ice lollies and soup, anything that has liquid and salt and sugar included. Lemon iced tea sounds yummy!
Oooh, I never knew about the cooling caps, that is worth asking about!
I shall try my feet in cold water and ice in front of the fan too.
You lot are so lovely, thank you for the ideas. I need it to be cooler at the weekend so that my body can catch up a bit on it's depleted chemicals.

I have elderflower cordial and sparkling water, which is lovely (although I try not to have too much sparkling stuff since I heard it leaches calcium from your bones). It is probably the same as elderflower presse but I get to choose the strength.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Look for coconut water at your local grocery store. Coconut water is not only a good source of electrolytes, including potassium, sodium and magnesium, but it also contains fiber.

that sounds yummy, whitewing! I am getting a bit bored with plain water now and anything that has a touch of sugar or salt in beneficial. My GP also told me to eat lots of bananas.
An interesting fact about when I was first diagnoses was my endocrinologist asked me about my past and if I have a lot of stress within it. There is a school of thought that Addison's is more predominant in people who have had very stressful lives where they constantly have adrenaline surges for years beforehand. It isn't the only cause at all (no one knows the real causes for certain) my mother had it also and there is an hereditary element, but it is possible that the constant need for cortisol when we are frequently fearful causes an already faulty system to breakdown. I was so confused why an endocrinologist would want to know about my psychological past!

OK, Sir says DON'T use a cooling cap. Apparently they make you hotter, in fact, cos your body sort of goes into shock when your head it cold and heats up more.
He says what you need is a swamp cooler. http://www.screwfix.com/p/11ltr-air-cooler/4426K?kpid=4426K&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-Sales%20Tracking-_-sales%20tracking%20url&cm_mmc=Google-_-Shopping%20-%20Heating%20and%20Plumbing-_-Shopping%20-%20Heating%20and%20Plumbing&gclid=Cj0KEQjw09C5BRDy972s6q2y4egBEiQA5_guvxAIMtZCensdVh7cnCzC73ADX4q_2wBh2xH3g05rXbYaAigv8P8HAQEx board guide. Oh, that wouldn't help, shock causes an adrenaline rush! This is so ridiculous, almost everything uses adrenaline. I would cry but that loses electrolytes so instead I shall just sit here without moving a muscle and meditate or something until autumn!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
