That sounds amazing, whitewing! Luckily I love melon too which is full of water so slices of that might help. My endocrinologist has told me to try things like Dioralyte in the past to replace the electrolytes so I need to get some sachets of that, too. But really, any drinks with salt and sugar help.
Yum! What a brilliant idea, elona! I shall definitely have those!
There is, of course a bright side to this. I am one of the few people given permission to drink sugary drinks and eat salty foods by their doctors. I asked him if fizzy drinks would be ok and the answer is yes but avoid ones with any artificial sweeteners because they can work as a laxative and diuretic so you lose more electrolytes than you gain. A glass of a pure sugar drink with a pinch of salt included is fine though. I have permission to eat rubbish food and drink to an extent! POP YOUR SHEETS IN THE FREEZER (Nb some of the other suggestions won't work for you as their cooling effect is because they prompt sweating
It may sound like a recipe for a sleepless night, but wetting your bed sheets and chilling them in the fridge or freezer three to four hours before you go to bed can work wonders.
Dampen them with a wet cloth rather than running them under a tap, as this will make them soggy. Wrap the sheets in a plastic bag before chilling, and simply take out and unfold immediately before bed.
You can also try filling an odd sock with plain, uncooked white rice and sticking it in the freezer a few hours before bed to make an easy ice pack.
Hot air rises, so the lower down you can position yourself at night — be this on a mattress on the floor or by shifting your bedroom downstairs — the better. Sleep experts recommend lying on a feather or down pillow with a cotton pillowcase; synthetic pillows will only retain heat.

Apparently you can freeze a top sheet too to use like a blanket, but do be careful of these suggestions WaS- don't want to make things worse accidentally:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I had never heard of that! I shall try it! Don't worry whitewing, none of the suggestions are medical as such, I just need ideas to stay as cool as possible to stop my temperature rising plus interesting drinks to rescue me from glasses of sugar and salt water.
Addison's is interesting because you can tell what you need by what you are craving. Before I was diagnosed I would crave salt at addiction levels. I would eat salt on toast, drink glasses of salted water and eat teaspoonfuls of it like ice cream. It is what made my doctor suspect Addison's. I also tend to crave sugar at the same time as the salt. I can tell when I am lacking electrolytes so I won't overdo it, my body sends a clear message about what it needs and when.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Good luck for tomorrow, Faerie! I will be thinking of you!
Oooh, one of those fans is a good idea. If my hair wasn't the only thing I like about my appearance I would have it all cut off right now. It is very long, very thick and I have a fringe which I am proud of but it really isn't helping me stay cool! Firstly..........Moo - yea! {moosquish}} for awesomeness. SO pleased for you.
Secondly, thank you all for the kind words which all made good sound sense. Think my head is a bit all over the place this week. PENGUIN (death) Today, as it is now Friday, is 10 years and 4 months to the day that my best friend was killed. Clock the date and you will see the irony. Whenever this date occurs, I take the day off work and hide as I just can't stomach the jokes about the date, but today (tomorrow when I get up) there is a wedding to attend. Gulp. Not sure I am going to be able to handle it on top of this weeks news. I feel bad because I miss my best friend every day, even 10 years on, yet I am not feeling anything close to that level of emotion for the father (unless anger counts). That just seems weird. It is difficult to explain but suffice to say the father was criminal and hurt people badly, so when I say not nice person, I really mean it.END PENGUIN
Mr.Fly is in his own little world. He didn't offer to stay in and I didn't ask, but I think I might be directing my mixed emotions at him when they are not really his fault as someone mentioned. And yes, he probably would have annoyed me if he had stayed in!
all out {Squishes} for everyone0
