You can only appeal online if the PCN tells you that is an option.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The PCN, states to appeal through post. But the advice on the newbies thread is 'not to post unless I have to' and looking at smart parking website , it appears they have a link to online appeal.
So I'm unsure as of to appealing online/post.
Also do I need to write the registered keeper's name in full with the address if posting it or Will just a squiggle suffice along with the address.

online is usually best if you can do so, but either is acceptable, providing you dont miss the 28 day deadline for appeals

if posting, take to the P O COUNTER and ask the staff for a free certificate of posting and keep it safe (not recorded , not special delivery, only the free option)

add the same name and address they addressed the pcn to, add the pcn number and VRN details too , and sign with a squiggle

It was just a windscreen ticket. That is why I was wondering whether to provide the keeper's name or just sign it with the address.

You MUST show the full name and address as well as the squiggle signature. They must have a named appellant to reply to.

    As Redx says:
if posting, take to the P O COUNTER and ask the staff for a free certificate of posting and keep it safe (not recorded , not special delivery, only the free option)

As you are going away I would post it a bit sooner, to be sure they get it before day 28. Keep your certificate of posting safe with the PCN and await your rejection, which might take a month.

Come back if no rejection letter & POPLA code within 35 days of when they would receive your posted appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hurrey !! This is what I came home to....

    "Dear xxxx,
Thank you for your recent communication recieved.
I have noted the points you raised and would like to confirm that we are cancelling the PCN
    Smart Parking Ltd "

So happy and celebrating the Friday night with a lovely meal with family_party_:dance::dance:_party_. If it weren't for these forum members support here, I would have handed my money to these scammers instead of spending it happily with my family.
Can't thank you all enough !! You have all been great and very supportive every step of the way. What a brilliant job you all do !! Much appreciated an thank you all again.

    Will do definitely !!
I'm surprised that smart parking have agreed to cancel the PCN when ASDA weren't one bit interested in helping their genuine customers.Shocking response from ASDA. Won't be shopping at ASDA ever again !!
