Thanks Mothernerd very helpful hints there. I have already scoured and pinched few bits off one of those challenges oops! rumbled. Not surprised your body is giving up so seem to go full out one day, then collapse, pace yourself and enjoy life.

Paid 15 pounds to cc2 today.

Bought battery for my scales at home yesterday anyway put on 4lbs, so plan to get out and about next few days and get it shifted. Not sure how to escape chocolate this weekend.

Ended up spending yesterday hit home bargains before the weekend for bunny stuff , paint a piggy box for gs. Tried their own make Vick last night bargain at 89p I could breathe and had a better nights sleep.

Fmess hope your doggy is bouncy again now.

Cut my lawn yesterday and one of my neighbours popped over to ask if I have any tarragon. Made me laugh confusing me with someone who can cook. Anyway curious now may have to get some and make a dish with it in. Sure I have never tasted it.

Not sure excited by long weekend, haven't got anything planned except lamb sunday dinner at daughters. Not worth going anywhere always get stuck in traffic here at bank holidays. Might get up early and explore one day. Garage tidy up/ how did it get so messy so quick?

    Catch up later.

I like it in a creamy sauce over chicken. Or cut slits into chicken breasts, stuff fresh tarragon and garlic in it, wrap in tin foil and bake. Yum

I like the idea of growing tarragon Calling14 My little herb bed doesn't have any.

    Fmess wishing your doggy well

Mothernerd I wish my clothes were feeling looser. Sadly they are feeling tighter...

Today is a spendy day. It's pay day so my shopping delivered (free delivery plus a £5 voucher). I went to IKEA before the Easter crowds begin. I spent very sensibly and went with a list. Mostly little things like tea towels and plants. I've decided plants are cheaper than flowers and good for the mood and for cleaning the environment too. I paid £3 for a bay tree. It's little but if it survives it is a good buy as I won't have to buy them anymore, so MSE in the end

I was unwell yesterday so didn't achieve much except I reacquainted myself with the library and got some books and DVDs that will save money as I am often tempted by a DVD as a treat.

I had organic reduced price jacket potato and humous and salad for lunch.

I paid an instalment to my holiday.

I sorted some more items for the charity shop.

Thinking about avoidance and I am avoiding:

1)weighing myself and taking action
    2)researching builders :(

Now I am feeling better I will do those today :)

Have a good day fellow turtles :)

I've only ever eaten it with chicken in a creamy sauce served with plain rice or potatoes. It's quite a strong tasting herb - aniseed like in flavour - and can overpower a dish

Spent today on accommodation for our Summer hols. Also went to A!di (some good 25p veg in their Super 6 this week) and Tesc0 to try not to go until after the Bank Hol - our local ones will likely be heaving over the weekend (today was bad enough!) I did manage to secure 2 pork loin joints @ £2.50
each, though, so they've gone in the freezer (so much for running it down - but I've scored some good YS meat bargains this month) Also bought a choc cake -:o was going to make one, but will make crispy nests with the small ones instead. Bought some Galaxy gold bling eggs to go on top and will brush some gold lustre over too :)

Only managed 4hours sleep last night, so am running on empty now (attacked the hot cross buns as a result :o) Am very glad that I can turn off my alarm for the morning! :) More CDs have been sorted through, though - with about another dozen and half or so going into the 'go' pile. Have also been clearing out DS2's room ready for decorating - but he has so much bits n pieces of 'stuff' that getting it all together is taking quite a while! Will finish that tomorrow, fingers crossed, so prepping ready for painting can begin :T

Am looking forward to all of us home together for the next couple of weeks - although DD and DS1 will really start ramping up their revision, so I doubt I'll see much of them outside of meal times!;)

Have been looking at our finances re what's coming in and what's going out over the next few months - looks like being a fairly tight few months, especially whilst OH is between contracts (although that does mean I'm finally getting some decorating done - every cloud... and all that! ;))

    Quote for the Day

    F E A R
    False Evidence Appearing Real

thrifty my mother doesn't store potatoes. When she's using ones for cooking, if any are sprouting she cuts off the sprouty bits and just lobs them in any spare corner of the garden. (Well she now has people cooking for her and the gardening is a bit much too)

Calling and doingitanyway I am too scared to weigh myself. One of the places I've been going to recently has a very good bathroom mirror. Add in the new glasses and it's seriously scary. However I am still willing to cling to any shreds of hope. Last time I weighed myself I was nearly back to my worst so feel I have wasted the last 4 years. My latest excuse is that I recently read about some research where people had initially lost weight after a hip replacement but then put weight on (as I did) but I am disappointed in myself this month. I am finding it difficult to lose weight and particularly exercise but it isn't going to get easier I just have to do it. I need to travel either 4 or 8 miles to proper scales so will add it on to the list for next time I have an all day bus ticket.

I have had an anybus ticket today. I am no longer going for counselling but I have been to see her volunteer receptionist to talk about local history. He wants to see me again next week but I am trying to reduce it to every two to four weeks. This way I am keeping in touch and if I feel the need to see my counsellor again in the future it would be easy to book an appointment. I feel I am getting to know people - the servicemen's free lunch is on Thursdays and I know the counsellor who works with them a lot and the man who has roughly the same appointment time as me. Got to practice my socialising muscles.

Went on to visit mum. The bathroom is finally being done (they moved in January and neither of them can use a bath - I thought I had everyone's agreement that they should not move until the adaptations were done and then idiots made arrangements behind my back). One of her partner's sons was already there and one of his daughters turned up whilst I was there so I didn't speak a single word for about two hours. I have brought home a treacle and golden syrup lake (5 jars/tins) and a ginger mountain (3 kinds) - mother is slowly adjusting to not baking. She's still sitting next to a carrier bag with two large files full of recipes and there are more in the cupboard.

Tried to catch the little bus back, saw it but was too far away so have walked back including tackling the frighteningly steep bridge. Did it with no grace of style whatsoever and was panting on the other side but it's another milestone achieved.

Finally made a trip to diy store to buy melamine for plinths (never buy the 'special' stuff - the ordinary is identical and half the price). However they don't do black. Went back to the kitchen section (didn't want to lug a 8' length round) but they didn't have black (floor colour as chosen by DS2) or beech (units and worktops colour). Leaned heavily on the trolley trying to think of a solution ( would have sat down if there had been anywhere to sit). I have settled for buying a pack of black vinyl floor tiles which I am going to stick on whatever suitable base material I have. This fit neatly in the baby rucksack.

Today I am grateful for being able to discretely ogle a gorgeous workman (mobile hairdresser had already offered mum a £1000 for him so I was very well behaved - mum hadn't realised he had a beard, she hadn't got further up than his arm muscles)
for creative solutions - just hope it works on a practical level
and for getting home despite obstacles and exhaustion (waiting in the rain for the final bus as walking might have been feasible but want to be able to work tomorrow).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Mothernerd - you never seem to stop. I have no idea how you always manage to fit so much into the day.
Hope everyone is doing ok - sorry I haven't been on very much lately. It's been a tough few days but I think that we're slowly working our way through it all. DH and I need to find some time to sit down this weekend and properly sort out a plan to try and move forward. We certainly can't keep going the way that we are at the moment.
Today has been a very lazy day for me. Not properly lazy but a bit lazy. I got up and slobbed in front of the telly; went for a blood test at the docs; did some cooking; sorted through my wool stash; did a bit of housework; took the cat to the vet; watched telly; got dd to cheerleading and did a top up shop. Hmm - maybe that's why I'm tired... I feel like I've done nothing but seeing it all written down then I have been pretty busy.:p

Last post of the challenge for me as we leave for a week's holiday early tomorrow morning.

I had to get up at 5.40am as the dog needed a wee and stayed up so I am now wrecked and still have stuff to do.:(

WFH today and had a busy day ensuring everything done before my break, posted stuff and made calls re house purchase, made chocolate cornflake nests and a lemon cake which still needs filling, I have also had my haircut, withdrawn cash, had a repair done to my car and done a food shop in 2 places and also had my shopping delivered! The joys of not being able to get the GF bits you want all at the same shop.

We certainly won't starve on this holiday and as we may be stuck in the caravan due to the weather a few edible treats wont go a miss. Must remember to pack a few board games and DVDs to keep DS amused.

I am concerned about how badly I am eating at the minute, much worse than normal and I need to sort it out. It is not just what I am eating but the lack of proper meals etc. It seems to be getting worse and I must focus on this next month even if it means I spend more money on food and 'convenience' items to make proper meals.

Good luck with the last few days of the challenge and I will see you on the April thread.

Morning turtles, it's a beautiful day here so once I've finished my coffee and breakfast, I plan to go for a walk. Planning to have a NSD today. I've got a shift for 2nd job later so that will be some extra cash next Friday. Did a bit of decluttering yesterday so I've got a bag to drop off at the CS which I will do on my way to work.
