Hello crazy_lady! Well done on paying it off! I'm another one who needs the monthly challenges to keep on track. Every month is different and it is good to have 12 'fresh starts' per year.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Quote for the day
Fear is the brain's way of saying that there is
something important for you to overcome.
clippy girl hope the cupboard hunt was successful.
crazy lady 2009 welcome back to the turtle gang.
Fmess well done on your ys goodies and on having the discipline to only buy what you needed/ could use.
crazy cat lady glad things are a little easier and hope you get to talk soon. Bathroom resealing is one of my least favourite tasks, I get so messy as only using my finger (wet it first) seems to get it really smooth (and someone always asks why I am sitting in the bath - so seal works when bath is full of water).
doingitanyway your food sounds amazing. I keep trying to be more adventurous.
Bob you could throw the tangerines in jelly, doesn't have to be tangerine/ orange. Would also mix with yoghurt or with ice cream. I sympathise with the cc overpayment. I overpaid one of mine by £1 (StepChange were making a payment of £1 on each and I must have forgotten to deduct it from the total when paying it off - bank halted the payment after the first 2). However I can't spend it as the cards were cut up. Keep meaning to phone to ask them to send it back to my bank but DS3 does most of his work there now and disturbing him causes chaos.
I have had a lazy day, bits of me were very creaky when I woke up. I have gone backwards as the pile of dry clothing I folded neatly into the laundry basket got left outside and rained on.
Today I am grateful for
pretty clouds this evening - the sun couldn't break through but the clouds were pinky yellow
not having some of my boards stolen - went out to investigate (that's how I found the washing) but 2 were together and one had fallen across the yard
stag wasn't what I thought it was and am enjoying catching up (it's not 'nice' but I have a much higher threshold for scary movies if the bad things are happening to horrible people.
Edit keep meaning to say, i only occasionally have a really productive day. It seems as though I have done a a lot as I am listing what I have done. This helps me keep cheerful by focusing on what I have achieved rather than what still needs to be done. If I think about what needs doing I can't face getting up.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Thanks mothernerd that's a great suggestion. I will definately go with that.. edited to say sorry to hear you've had the annoying credit card thing too. Why should they keep our cash. Grrr
The cake turned out really well. Smells like peaches but almost slightly custard like in texture. We both had a big slice with our evening cuppa.
Hoping tonight is a better one. DD was awake for 2 hours between 2 and 4 last night. She is teething but nothing is visible yet. So we just get these terrible bursts of furious red faced crying and nothing will console her till she just falls asleep again. I feel ok but DH is knackered today. She just did it again earlier whilst I was upstairs reading to DS. Poor teething babies. Anyway!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

. I have also made a fruity cake from the same method. Frozen pineapple rings, cherries and peaches have all gone into it. Once it's cooled will use leftover royal icing to ice it.
All that is left in the freezer now is a couple of tubs of birds eye chillies we bought for about 50p for an enormous sack years ago. Some mushrooms (vile things kept for OH only) & some tangerines that I had in mind to make into marmalade but apparently marmalade needs Seville oranges so no good. Any ideas anyone??
..
Cake sounds yummy
I've made marmalade using 'normal' oranges. My nicest ever marmalade was using normal oranges, limes, lemons and soft satsumas - and a random pink grapefruit. I've never used Seville oranges
Spent today at Mr T - now over food budgetHave more than enough food in to last until month end - except milk (currently have about 20 pints in - will easily get through 5-6 pints/ day in hols)

Felt like I should use them all as only day you can
Bob you can call them up and get them to refund to your account if you have a dd set up or get a cheque.
Cupboard hunting was nearly but not quite successfulfound a lovely new one painted how I would like it for £75. But pointless buying a painted one as I will need to redo so it matches. It was too deep but style wise just what I want. The lady in the shop said the owner commissions them from a 75 year old man who makes them all. I'm going to message her on Facebook to see if it would be possible to get me one made a little wider but not as deep. Hoping that I can get it around the price of the one in the shop if I get them to not bother waxing and painting. It is a bit more than I hoped but it is really nice. Plus if I can't get a 2nd hand one the Argos one is £89 as its home delivery only and costs £9 :(
Today dad is coming with my table and chairs :T currently got my garden ones in the dining room for the guests to use! Luckily table and chairs were sold yesterday
Other than that I stocked up on stuff in cheap oi shopping centre and spent £18 in savers. Cannot believe what a rip off boots is. Bought some jungle insect repellent on offer for £8, it is £3.50 in savers :mad: going to see if I can return to boots for a refund and pick up some from savers. Boots also wanted £3.69 for the rehydration sachets and they were £1.89 in savers. Daylight robbery!!!
Splashed on the mr muscle drain unblocker (although it was 100% free) and glad I paid the extra as it actually worked on my bathroom sink! Usually I cannot even pour the liquid down the pipe as its so blocked it just pools in the sink. Had to have the hot tap on for 10 mins but luckily it eventually dislodged the gunk!
Today I am going to do my packing list. I packed most of the stuff already for the first part of my trip so just need to sort out the second lot
Hope everyone has a nice day:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Morning all
:easter_os:easter::EasterBun
I'm looking forward to a sneaky chocolate or two later. I've stashed a couple of crème eggs in my school bag as I know that nobody will have thought to buy me an egg. My kids have just completed their little egg hunt about the house and dh is still in bed.
Should be a nsd today - fingers crossed. I'm quite tired, rough night and the missing hour of sleep hasn't helped either. We're all off to my mam's later for a free feed and a bit of a catch up. Should be nice if I can snap myself out of this mood I'm in.Not giving up

Thank you Greent Your marmalade sounds gorgeous.
Clippy_girl Thanks I will try and give them a ring.
We had a fun morning. I had bought a pack of 18 plastic eggs from the £ shop which I filled with tiny white chocolate eggs and hid for DS to find.
Got some super cute photos of DD on the rug holding her own easter bunnies (Apple thanks again for those)
Have a shoulder of lamb in the oven for later, studded with garlic and rosemary. That was half my plan for clearing the freezer of leftovers so I could cook all fresh foods today.
How annoying are those Arseda giant hen ads by the way??
Hope everyone has a good day.

2 NSD's in a row for me. Even though everywhere is closed I'm still rather pleased. I don't intend to spend tomorrow either so that will be 3 in a row!!
I will swim tomorrow but no exercise today. Not many turtle goals achieved today but it's Easter Sunday so I'm cutting myself some slack

Hi all,
Had a nice day and a NSD
Dad brought the table and chairs over. looks nice and I've already attacked a small section with the sander and the varnish comes off easy  the wood is quite pale so I might buy a darker wax for the tops of all the furniture as still need to sand and wax the living room furniture I did last month as well. Have found a chalk paint stockist where I am shopping on sat so will pick it up then.
Have washed the car today before dad came and then he put up two wall hangings for me on the stairs. I bought them years ago and they have been in a drawer since!
We went out for a nice lunch then they went home.
I was just lounging around so decided to tick a few jobs off. Have touched up the paint around the fireplace and done one coat of chalk paint on the living room mirror. Will do a second later then wax and hang it up tomorrow. Once i have done the caulking the living room will be finished :j I'm going to do all the caulking in the house as lots of cracks around doors and skirting:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0
