Of course I managed a nsd - there's nowhere open to spend money on Easter Sunday. Even I couldn't mess that one up.
Lovely afternoon out at my mam's - nice roast dinner and gorgeous lemon meringue dessert. Just relaxing now and enjoying the lighter evening.
DH has asked me what I want for my birthday - I think it's a bit boring that I can't think of a single thing... Best ponder that for a while. Not giving up

Bob - glad your dd likes her bunny!
Another one here who 'managed' to have another NSD. And I am now properly up tp 16/16!
Dd woke up with a stinker of a cold so we have stayed inside and been awed by the weather outside. The 2 leaky roof bits have just about held their own, so just tonight's next wave of storm rain to get through...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Quote for the day
Everything you want is on the other side of your fear.Jack Canfield
Happy Easter turtles and well done on getting your SFD. I hope you/ your littlies got lots of eggs and that no-one was sick.
greent 5 to 6 pints of milk a day:eek:. I sometimes have to throw it away and I only buy 3 small UHT ones to do six months - only use it for cheese sauce, in baking and very rarely for pouring custard.
clippy girl i hope you can get your made to measure cupboard for a reasonable price and well done on ticking off the jobs on your list
crazy cat lady I think DH asking about your birthday shows that both he and the relationship are in a much better place than they were a week ago.
Bob one of the joys of watching very little tv and only ever on the laptop, is not seeing adverts. The last one I remember (looked it up specially) was the JL 'Mog' one and then only because Judith Kerr is such a special lady. My ex in-laws used to quote ads and it drove me up the wall ("He's a very nice man" - I don't think they knew how Monty Python they sounded).
doingitanyway I agree, take a day out to relax.
The weather here has been mostly lovely with the occasional shower and one little storm. I have done 2 hours out in the garden cleared a tiny patch (about 8' x nearly 3'), flattened it (scraped the remaining sand/ soil from the path), put down a layer of weed suppressant fabric and set up two large veg bags (1m x 0.5m x 0.5m) and filled them with the contents of two dustbins (12 small rubble sacks of soil/ hm compost).
I was huffing and puffing after the first few minutes, drank lots of water but carried on and finished off when it started to rain, then hail and finally through thunder and lightning. I was hot and sweaty on the inside and cold and dripping (lots of hair strands came loose) on the outside.
Had a long hot bath and have been back since to peg up all the rubble sacks to clean them and let any scraps of soil drop out. Also moved my dolly trucks away from the back gate (space - not made the gate yet).
Started off by re-pegging my clothes and brought most in (and grabbed my coat and cardi when it started to rain hard). Hope to do more tomorrow (weather permitting) but if I want to go somewhere I have clothes now.:rotfl:
I ache in lots of different places so hopefully I have exercised lots of separate muscle groups. Not much but that bit of the yard is set up how I want it. However I will need more soil or curb my growing plans for this year. Not urgent so will ponder awhile. I still have 5 potato bags and three large plant pots to decant so will see how far that takes me.
Today I am grateful for
mostly good weather
getting to do something good
simplified food plans (DS3 found out that pizza place was open and ordered for himself - gave me garlic bread (it has tomato and cheese so in effect a mini 6" pizza) and two bottles of diet coke. he then went to sleep, so I didn't bother asking if he wanted a 'roast dinner' - made myself a hot turkey and stuffing baguette (baguettes have been in the freezer since the beginning of December). If DS3 chooses lamb dinner tomorrow, the lamb was cooked in October and was originally bought for last Easter - I have offered him roast dinners every time his friends have been over (now have a choice of turkey, lamb, chicken and pork all sliced and frozen). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening turtles and happy easter to everyone
Me and OH went to A!di yesterday and spent a bit more than budgetedon the plus side we are now fully stocked up with everything so the next few weeks should be lower than budgeted. Met my friend for a drink last night which was lovely and stayed within budget. I must be about the only one who didn't manage a NSD today as I forgot to buy milk yesterday
Not much else to report, made a £4.40 payment to the debtBack to work tomorrow so away to get myself organised and get an early night.

Morning all,
Hope no one has too much damage done in the storm! One of my fence panels blew down and assumed the one that needed repair had probably broke as well. Luckily the one that needed repair is still repairable and the one that blew down can probably be fixed with a strip of wood at the bottom. I have the concrete posts it slots in and the bottom strip had long ago rotted so it just blew out intact. So a trip to wickes is on the cards for today. I probably need to consider replacing that whole side though as they are on their last legs. I'll ask my neighbours landlady if she will go halfs.
I very stupidly stood the collapsed glass table up against the fence yesterday and it blew over but thank god it didn't break! I have left it face down on the ground for now!
My friend has recommended a preloved furniture place so going to call and see if they are open later. I have found a gorgeous one in the perfect size on Cotswolds website but it's £225!! I'm going to go over to the Cotswolds shop today as its only 5 mins away as I love looking around for inspiration. I will check out the clearance warehouse behind it though as they often have stuff which is scratched with good reductions.
Other than that I'm having a batch cooking marathon and doing more jobs on my day list. Most are free like doing the caulking and touching up paint.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Morning all,
You all sound very productive. Yesterday I did a few jobs bit kept returning to the sofa or bed as I just feel worn out. Got up this morning and was hoping to have more 'get up and go' but I've just cooked my breakfast and now I'm ready for a rest. Think the dull weather and rain this morning isn't helping.
Yesterday wasa SFDHad a lovely dinner at my parent's and got a bit of unexpected money so I'm going to split that between my small savings pot and the debt as this month has lots of expenses - few days away, gas appliance safety check, dog vaccinations, new brakes for the car.
Right I'm off to do 3 things off my list and then I'll let myself have a rest.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Sulking in to sit on the naughty step
:o
I bought the sideboard from Cotswolds as they had one with a few dents in for £150 instead of £225. I'm not having luck with a second hand one as they are all too deep. It's much nicer than the Argos one which was £90. Unfortunately it's still in the shop as I can't fit it in my carput out a plea to friends and if not I will see if I can get a black cab to pick me up from shop (it is only one mile away). They will deliver it for £20 which is ridiculous plus They only deliver on Thursdays and I will be at work. But it is very nice :happyhear can't wait to put my shoes in it
Other venture was not successful as wickes did not sell cable tacks in white except tiny ones and I did not want to go in the outside bit to get the fence wood as it was torrential rain! It's less than 5 mins away so will go back tomorrow lunchtime when working at home. Cable tack not exactly crucial so can wait until I pass b&q:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Happy Easter Turtles!!!
Sorry I have been MIA - for some reason my home computer does not like MSE and especially this thread. Each time I try and come on to read and post I get flashes and big white squares over the page which pee me right off!!
I have tried loads of things that didn't work and then had a brainwave to move to the new forum and fingers crossed it has worked!!!
I think having all the articles round the border of the forum was not helping.
I am now all caught up with you all - you are all doing really well
I will update my signature for the last few days of March.
I have had 12 NSD's so far this month and today should also be one. If I don't spend for the rest of the month then I should meet the 16 NSD target.
Back soon guys - I have Easter Eggs to eat0 -
Hi turtles, hope everyone had a lovely Easter.
What a lot of busy bees. I really sealed my bath/shower today so happy I did. Avoided using the shower past month why didn't I do it sooner? Spent rest of the day cleaning.
Fmess great progress with your debt, feel I am being chased now whilst I am trying to play catch up to Bob.
Naughty Clippy_girl. Money well spent I reckon. I have a unit from them and lasted ever. Where sideboard from argos, drawers broken and internal shelves collapsed. Get what you pay for. Hope you get delivery sorted out. Haven't you got a local man with a van. They are cheap around here.

If you live in fear of the future because of
what happened in your past, you'll end up losing
what you have in the future.clippy girlouch:eek: Well done on tackling more jobs. Fairly sure Wilko's have cable clips and they are usually much cheaper than the diy stores.
Fmess Hooray for extra money. If your body is saying rest, i would listen, you don't make a habit of staying in bed.
Welcome back Eager Elephant.
Calling well done on sealing the shower and bath.
I have not done a lot. I have found homes for several large pieces of kitchen equipment and found two pieces that fit two of the plinth spaces.
Today I am grateful for
good reading material
a good bed (going to sleep soon)
and a quiet day (not bothered by the noise of the car park but the special hush today and Friday has been appreciated). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
