    I'm pleased with myself today

I signed up for a growing your own fruit and veg course starting at the end of April. I eat lots of organic fruit and veggies so I’m planning to start growing the expensive stuff like berries for example, for myself

Swept bedroom through. A scary amount of dust.

    Decluttered a small teddy,

Binned a coaster, an eye pencil

I’ve been avoiding contacting an organisation that gave me a grant. I need to arrange a payment plan and I asked them to give me a little bit more please as otherwise I would still struggle to go. They haven’t answered the email I sent. I chased today and they came back to me straight away with an increased amount :T

I’ve been avoiding calling the bank as I was unhappy with a repayment plan and wanted to negotiate a better one. I called them and got a better deal :T

I ate healthily :) but did zero exercise :(

I didn't cut the grass or dig over the herb bed despite the lovely weather :(

    A SFD too :j

I hope my fellow turtles had some sunshine today :)

    Afternoon,
Today has not been a sfd as I went out for breakfast with my colleagues. Only spend £4.70 and it was very nice :)

Then bought two dining room chairs for £5 from gumtree. Only needed one for spare room desk but came together and were a good price. Will keep the second one as my new table only has 4 chairs so now I can still seat 6 :)

The person selling the cupboard messaged to say they were not selling it anymore which was  already listed and sold my drawers so will be nowhere for my shoes come Friday :( just had my new to me small bookcase delivered and selling my big one tonight. Selling mine for £5 more than I paid for the small one so that's good :) once I sort the cupboard out I will get the chalk paint to paint it all. Very excited :)

    Quote for the day

Too many of us are not living our dreams
because we are living our fears.

    misstara
gold star for exercise and well done for cleaning.

Apple glad to hear you have hit the SFD target and well done to your OH on making Sainsbobs redeem their vouchers.

Fmess sorry you had bad news and a poor night's sleep. Well done on resisting the takeaway.

doingitanyway I like the sound of your herb bed. I have found fruit growing fairly easy. My raspberries and blackcurrants need very little attention in this okayish soil and blackcurrants were ok in the poor soil at the other house. Strawberries take more work (but they go forth and multiply - I gave shoots from mine to my mother who gave them to my brother and two other people and they've had loads of fruit over the years) and I haven't done well with blueberries (need special soil) or cranberries (except they may be what is growing self-seeded in the backs). Lots of people have had good results with the £ shop bushes. Well done on tackling your fears and excellent results with the grant organisation and the bank.

FunBrum I understand you being busy but at least the move happened.

thriftylass glad you had a good holiday with lots of family fun. Boo to the clamping but sure you will soon get back on track. I still haven't started my seeds but yesterday when i was doing mash I saved all the sprouting bits off the potatoes and cut slightly larger ends off the sweet potatoes as I am going to try making my own slips. Not sure if I can grow sweet potatoes but my secret weapon is a glass topped garden table - it has been working as a mini greenhouse for all the weeds DS2 let grow when he was living here so will try putting it to productive use.

Back later - need to do oven cleaning part two (part three is the bit I am dreading.

    dia - what a great day! :)

Apple - glad DH managed to use the voucher :) Are you planning on using the others up asap? And well done on hitting SFD target! :)

Mothernerd - wow! - that's a busy day you had yesterday!

No more SFDs here - don't think I'll achieve the target somehow! Still - I've been more focussed than I would have been without this challenge :) Am writing a list for Saturday's Smkt shop - I have an £8 off £40 spend voucher, so I plan to make use of that :)

    Terrible news today :(

    Hi everyone
Sorry that I completely disappeared off the face of the planet for a couple of days. I won't bore you with it all, but it was a very rocky weekend with dh. Not his illness, but we didn't half argue - and it had gotten to the point that I had started to wonder if there was any point in trying to carry on. There are a couple of trust issues that I need to try and decide how to deal with - I don't know how I feel about it yet because my brain genuinely won't do anything about it.
Anyway. Sunday was a nsd, yesterday was a busy day at work, followed by a good natter and catch up with a friend and a top up shop at Mr S. We are done for the month spend wise - I am completely out of pennies and can't seem to get certain people that owe me money to cough up. Today has been another nsd and I'm less stressed than I was yesterday for sure. Just one more get up! :j

Well I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! :j
Fortunately, being so busy has kept me out of the shops and 19 NSDs under my belt! :T
I had a refund from my energy supplier for £141, I also got £9.57 for selling some dvds, so that's in the pot as well for my debt! I'm going to sell some games next week now that I'm on a roll!:rotfl:

I've been staying at my friends house while I sort out his house move. It's easier and saves me travelling every day. I've also been cooking everything from his freezer to use it up, so I've been eating meals with my friend. Hopefully, with my food savings and not being at home using my utilities, I can save a bit this month!:D

Everyone is doing so well and we can all see the end of the month in sight! :EasterBun

I hang my head in shame and skulk back to the naughty step... Nowt too bad, but after crowing about my NSD total, I've realised that somewhere along the line, I shifted from counting the nsds to using the date as the number! However, I'll not linger for long. Promise.

Tomorrow dh and I shall try to spend some more vouchers in a larger store.

This challenge is very tough greent and there are many targets within it. However the more you do, the better you get at it and as you say even though you may not make the target, you are much more aware of your spending which is a result in itself.

Hugs ccl glad you are less stressed today and yay to only one more 'get up'. Just keep plodding and pondering until you work out what you want and what is achievable.

FunBrum an excellent SFD total and good news on the refund and sales. Glad that helping your friend is being rewarded in free food.

Apple you won't reach your exercise target if you keep sitting on the naughty step. You haven't done anything wrong, recalculate if you can, do your best guesstimate if not and get back out there.

Before I forget, does anyone have a burning desire to run the thread next month or in the coming months. thought I'd give you time to think about it rather than springing it on you at the last minute. Have half an idea that someone already tentatively offered?

I have not spent any money today. I have tackled the dreaded oven - it's not wonderful but it's a lot cleaner. Went to the Town Hall as new Council tax bills came yesterday for both houses. Their systems were down yesterday so I have seen them today, yes they have all the information logged, just not been processed yet but I can ignore the bill for the old house.

Also changed energy tariff - wasn't worth changing supplier as all the best ones were coming in at similar figures to my own supplier but the tariff I was on was due to change. They had already said my direct debit was going up to £45 per month (dual fuel) but on the new tariff it may go down to £32 (they will review it in a few weeks).

Made a curry with the last chicken breast (2 portions), put loads more stuff in the freezer (11 individual wraps, 10 x 2 sandwich thins, other stuff done yesterday), discarded 22 pieces of embroidery fabric (some stained, some too small - tiny triangle left from cutting a heart shape from a small oblong, whatever was I going to do with it?) taking my total for the week to 55 (aiming for 100), put the bins out and scrubbed the bath (did it in stages every time I paid a visit - sometimes at the same time, can I multi-task).

Today I am grateful for dry weather if not sunny (washing drying, moveable oven bits outside)
for good food made from scraps (celery sticks with not so crisp bits going in the curry which also used the sweet potato cooking water from yesterday
and some things being easy to sort out (Council system worked even if processing the info is taking a while).

A NSD to report today, think that takes me to 11 :) Tomorrow won't be as we're running low on toilet paper and milk plus I'm meeting my friend for lunch. I've had a fairly relaxing day, met my friend at the gym earlier so had a good catch up while working out then have spent the majority of the day on the sofa with a book.

    Morning all,

Yesterday turned into a spendy day as when I got home from work my three legged dog had injured a leg :( Not sure how but he can barely walk :( Took him to the vets and he's now on a anti inflammatory. Had to adjust our routine as usually the dogs sleep upstairs but he couldn't manage the stairs and he was so down I couldn't face leaving him downstairs, so we all slept downstairs! I pushed the two sofas together and whilst it wasn't a great nights sleep, I feel glad I could keep an eye on him.

Today will be a spendy day as its a friend's leaving do.

Better get going, see you later.
