  • They have honestly kept their buyers so far away from the process it's taken all the excitement out of it as you are made to feel like an inconvenience. Didn't expect it to be like this. Even choosing our options was rushed at 4pm on a Sunday when they closed at 5pm!

That sounds awful. Most of our options were already picked as we reserved late in the build process but what we did pick we were given almost 3 hours to choose, and that was only flooring and one lot of tiles!

What developer is it you are with?

  • It's been very frustrating. 3 weeks max and it should all be over! They're not a national builder, they're a local one down here in Kent but they are by no means small so I would have expected a decent level of service.

Glad your experience has been a bit more enjoyable! Will you be in for Christmas?

    That's poor Murray!

Bellway have been brilliant, can't complain at all. Have went over and above on a few occasions.

Got our home demo on Wednesday ready for completion next Wednesday. SO excited!
  • Glad yours has been a great experience. You want to feel like a valued customer when you're spending so much money! Heard good things about Bellway. So excited for you, hope it all goes well!

We are supposed to be completing 16th Dec, all being well! Our buyer is a nightmare though, so who knows!

At least you haven't got much more time to wait, fingers crossed you get in for your home demo ASAP :)

Had the home tour yesterday and it's looking great! Pointed out a few issues that will be taken care of before completion :)

Back for another look around on Saturday morning as my partner couldn't make it yesterday.

Text from Nationwide this morning confirming the funds are to be released next week ready for Wednesday, eeek!

Still no closer to a phone line though, there's no cables from the exchange to the green cabinet so the planners are needing to find a way of getting some there either by running new ones, or, diverting from another cabinet. No timescales yet, thank god for my 4G router with a 50GB/month sim!

    Excellent lee111s, that's great news - I bet you can't wait!

  • Well, things have ended up much better for us within the space of a couple of days. Actually saw the house for the first time yesterday and it's beautiful. Love every room and they commented on how good our choices looked as we went 'off piste' as they described it by not selecting one of their 'design collections' Having said that, it's all still shades of taupe so we were never going to go far wrong! They said they are aiming to serve notice on the 2nd still and if that goes ahead, bearing in mind they haven't had any properties where that date has had to move, we can complete on the 6th or 7th! So excited!

Hope your completion is still on for the 16th kirstypoos? Your buyer needs to stop being a nightmare especially this close to Christmas.

And lee111s is that the 30th you complete? Hope your new home is amazing!
