Does anyone want to join me waiting for new build to be built and complete

Barratts will give a three month window. Mine was originally Aug/Sep/Oct but shifted a few days after reservation to Jul/Aug/Sep. The sales office always said it would be towards the end of the period but in reality it's moved much faster to the extent that right now I'm awaiting the call to say completion has happened.0

Then pushed out to November 2015
Then pushed out to December 2015
Then completed in September 2015.
A lot of factors come into play in house building. Timings are a guideline only.0 -
Completion complete! The house is mine!0

Just a quick question of everyone whilst I'm here. One of the things that has annoyed me most about this whole process has being the lack of commitment from TW about the dates for our build, I get why they do it but it is very aggravating. So, as I am a web developer by trade I was thinking of creating either a website or a shareable Google sheet of the progress of new build properties. People can put in their dates and these can be used to compare with others to give a rough indication on how long these things could take. Would anyone be interested in this?
I would be interested in this!
Have searched online for 'reviews' of certain building developers, I found nothing...0 -
Don't suppose anyone's purchased a Jelson Home or a Westleigh Home? How was the experience? Would you recommend them?0

Okay, I don't have the time to make a full website at the moment, but I have knocked up a quick Google Form to collate the information.
If anyone is interested the link is https://goo.gl/forms/brlIsieLOjzHIAGj1
The more people who fill it in the more accurate it will be!0 -

Great, cheers! Don't suppose you could add two more questions:
1. Location? [before the home builder]
2. Based on your experience would you recommend them? [before any comments]0 -
Is it to fill in once complete?0

Well this is now where we're at with ours:
24th May: House reserved
14th June: HTB authority to proceed received
8th July: Initial mortgage offer was received, which then had to be corrected twice due to incompetence of mortgage broker
14th July: Correct mortgage offer received
27th July: Contracts exchanged
Our estimated completion date per our contract is the 14th of October with a two month termination period. Our long stop is the 14th of December - so definitely in before Christmas unless some catastrophe occurs.
We have also had written into our contract that Bellway will give us 20 working days notice of completion rather than the standard 10 as we are currently in rented accommodation which has a two month notice period.
We've already chosen all our options for the kitchen and bathrooms. We are having a shower, extra tiling and shower screen put in to the main bathroom, a couple of extra sockets and additional patio tiling done but most of that is covered by the £1,000 towards upgrades Bellway gave us. To be honest the spec on our house was pretty good as they've given the houses on our development the 'silver' package.
Spoke to the girl at the site office the day we exchanged and we should get our first proper viewing of the house in about 3 weeks; it's currently at the first fix stage.
Excited - but there is also so much we need to organise! :j0
