Oo I love photos! I will try and share some of ours later.

I keep going up and down about it all due to the amount of money it is costing and needing flooring etc. But I know it is a short term thing for a long term benefit.

That's entirely normal Swishy and to be expected. It's a rollercoaster.

Thank you for the reassurance. Had tears and everything today. I am a huge worrier and worried about money being tighter, we don't NEED to move etc.

I can definitely sympathise. I've had all of that especially due to some work complications and post-Brexit concerns around the housing market. Ultimately I've started viewing it as a long term move and that it will all be worth it in the long-run.

Now a week away from completion I can only see the up-sides to it all and can't wait to get the keys. Also, work is stabilising a bit and actually looking much more positive so all in all it's the start of a new chapter.

I'm so glad it is normal. Our mortgage will be £600 a month more and I keep getting so worried, even though on paper it works, I'm just used to having that disposable income. I hope I relax more soon as right now I think my oh is on the verge of pulling out just to stop me worrying! I do keep thinking it is long term and hopefully over the next few years our wages will both increase. But we don't have children yet etc so obviously that's a concern when taking such s huge chunk of income up on a bigger mortgage!

Everyone should be sharing photos! We've taken loads throughout the process and it's great to see how far it's come :)

I've actually being really relived this week, my current job has ran into some real financial trouble since I said I was leaving, including a knock on the door by HMRC for 16k(!) of outstanding VAT. Thankfully my new job starts in a week and will give me somewhere in the region of a 6k a year pay rise :) I'm so thankful I got out when I did.

I think some level of worry is going to be natural, it's a big step and things get dragged out for much longer meaning you have more time to think about it. But you are (usually) guaranteed to get something out of it in the end, as opposed to buying an older place where you aren't sure if the boiler will pack up in 6 months!

If you are able to save £600 a month without trouble and are willing to make some sacrifices should they be required then I think you have a made a good choice.

I'm going to try and get our photos on soon. We have some aerial shots too.

We currently save £800 a month (which goes on holidays generally) but on paper should be able to save £500 a month once we move (although first few months this will be needed for things for the house). Like I say I think it is because we don't really NEED to move as only slightly bigger than this house, but we like it! And I am naturally a big worrier.

Sounds good about the job! I bet you can't wait now. All I keep trying to tell myself as sometimes those big wage increases just happen. 18 months ago hubby and I both changed jobs and suddenly had about an 18k increase. So I'm hoping something similar will happen again.

We're three weeks away now, ended up with a two week delay as they're project management leaves alot to be desired in certain departments it seems! - well we got another grands worth of work thrown in for the issues, so it could be worse.

We're getting super excited now, not least because our dogs arent with us where we are staying and thats been super tough. Buying stuff for the house is keeping us occupied, but we're really underestimated the cost of fitting the house out to a good standard - our philisopy is buy cheap buy twice, so we're not buying cheap and its starting to hurt a little!

Oh well, looking forward to the demo in a few weeks - the internet is booked for the following day and now its countdown time!

Good luck all of you with your buys and happy ownership :)

So if this works here's some progress of ours! They aren't in any particular order so may jump to having a roof then no roof etc.

Someone let me know if it isn't just restricted to this folder! Don't want people browsing my millions of random photos haha

Hi everyone! Thought I would join in as I was a lurker but we have finally exchanged after seeing the place back in February!
Buying a bellway property in the south east so no incentives and completion is due end of November! Our place has been sold and we are now living with oh's stepmum until November! But difficult with a 18 month in tow but will be so worth it when we move into our new home!
Good luck to everyone exchanging or completing soon
