We have paid the mortgage processing fee - it is now going for final checks so we should have an offer next week fingers crossed .pennyprincess - getting more for less0
-
Thanks PennyPrincess, hope they don't keep you waiting too long!0

Shouldn't have got my hopes up! The house hasn't been signed off and won't be until next Monday/Tuesday, so whoever told our solicitor it they were ready to exchnge was talking out of their wotsists!
New home tour tomorrow though.
Wish you luck with it, whilst frustrating I am sure it'll be worth it in the end!
As for us, fee paid for mortgage, buyer has mortgage in place I am pushing as hard as I can to get contracts signed - alas it seems the new build paperwork is holding us up right now0 -
Did an early morning run out to the new build the slab is down and in the last two weeks they have got 5 of the houses up to roof and ready for internal fit (these are on the single road to our plot - our plt will be the last to be built).
Finally get sight of the slab where ours will be
Stood looking at one of the 5 they have to roof (two of which are our house type) so it was great to see it - it looked bigger than we remembered too0 -
The size gets bigger the more they do, ours seems to have grown!
Did the tour today. A couple of things that need sorting; the shower fitter has taken too much of the tile out so they need sorting. The extractor hood hasn't been done correctly; we don't know what they'll do as we were sticking with the cupboard one but they've installed stainless steel.
Flooring is going in next week. There are a few niggly things like shrinkage and paint chips but that's all been noted, plus the toilet door is sticking a bit, but nothing horrendous! A few more freebies have gone on too.

Glad to hear you got some extras for free
Sees odd to have an outside tap on the front of the house though?
If they fitted the stainless steel I cant see the taking it out now...0 -
I'd be inclined to agree but it's not been installed correctly so they may take it all out. Wait and see what's there in 2 weeks!
The outside tap is directly under the kitchen sink. As long as no one comes along and decides to turn it on then I don't mind! The neighbour's is in the same position, and it's close to both the garden and our parking space/garage so we can clean the cars.
We had a peek at the neighbours (1 has been signed off) and they've gone to town on extras (integrated appliances, chrome switches etc) and the guy from the sales office has been very keen to impress upon us not to tell them we've not paid for a load of our stuff. So it sounds like the things they put in ours they've got in theirs too but have paid for it.
Total freebies list is now:
Outside lights (front and back)
Doorbell
Down lights in bathroom and kitchen
Upstairs tv and phone points
Stainless steel splashback
Stainless steel extractor hood (?)
If they threw in a dishwasher I'd be delighted!0 -
Is luvvley Haylescom so excited for you...so close ! I think we are going to have v similar kitchens..mine is U shaped with Howdens shaker grey and walnut block counter and the oven looks just like yours...I never thought about doorbell and lights ! Still have to work out what going in mine and where have not even had a proper plan of the house with the electric points etc yet.pennyprincess - getting more for less0
-
Thanks pennyprincess, that does sound very similar! I think it's my favourite room but I guess that's because it's the most complete.
I'm not great with drawings tbh, even looking at plans didn't help me. We seem to have a good amount of sockets though.0 -
I'm hoping to reserve my new build tomorrow, 4 bed detached by small local builder, we view the sales home at a different location as this development isn't done yet, the house is up but no slates on the roof yet, and no windows. Completion July, fingers crossed for tomorrow I hope we get it!0
