We've tried land mines! blows the sh*t out of them - I jest I know but we use chicken wire fixed by 2 by 1 posts and it seems to work - just like the netting wood but lasts a lot longer.'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' : Member number 632

has anyone tried this;
Coleus Canina Scaredy Cat x 5 plants
Plectranthus ornatus
Coleus Canina has been named the Scaredy Cat plant because of it's unique ability to deter cats from messing up the garden!
The ultimate cat repellent that also provides foliage colour and light blue flowers in the garden. It has a scent that Cats and Dogs do not like but which is non-offensive to humans. Coleus Canina is a perennial plant and will provide lasting benefits in your cat wars! We offer FREE delivery on all plants.
this is what it looks like LINKY0 -

Tried the Scaredy Cat plants and they did nothing, they would quite happily brush against them as they walk past. Also don't belive its non offensive to humans, it stinks!0

well iv had the same problem, weve tried the orange and lemon peel and it doesn't work in our garden!!! weve also got loads of windmill type toys in the borders for the kids as well as wind chimes and they don't work either.......
And as for pepper, weve gone through loads of it, ground unground black white nothing seems to work for us. I have 2 small children too and know someone who is parshly blind due to cat poo so this issue really scares me. If you do find something that works please let me know. they also love to poo under our big trampoline which is a pain.
While were on the subject of pests in the garden does anyone really know how to stop squirrels digging up all your bulbs and plants? Weve tried the wet tea bag thing, albasol, windchimes and have all pebbles round all our plants that are potted but they still seem to love our garden.:eek:0 -
oh yeh and those horrible stinky plants don't work either!!!!!0

How about attaching netting to the side of the trampoline and pinning it down with a few tent pegs? If you can stop them getting underneath then they will have to stop crapping there.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I let our dog out the front door last night so he could sit by the gate as usual to wait for my husband to get home from work. I walked into the bedroom and there was my neighbour's cat asleep on our bed! Haven't got a clue when he slipped in but clearly having a dog in the house was no deterrent what so ever ( btw we are all on one level as we live in a bungalow)! This was just before 10.30pm so I was tired and thinking about going to bed.
Talk about all hell breaking loose! The cat jumped down and ran to the front door and started yelling to be let out, but of course the dog was trying to break down the front door by now and barking the place down! I grabbed the cat and quickly put him out the back door and then let the dog in who of course ran straight to the back door still barking like mad and got tangled up in the vertical blinds! Once I could see the cat was out of the garden I let the dog out to 'chase' it and then brought him in to calm him down! I was wide awake when my husband came in a few moments later! :rotfl:Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -

Hi Stuart, they're a blessed nuisance for sure! :mad:
Re the known pooing area of under the trampoline, put plenty of Holly twigs underneath, that'll make the little [STRIKE]!!!!!![/STRIKE] err beggar think twice about where it sticks it's butt!
Do the same thing wherever you know it's inclined to carp. If you can't get Holly then use brambles or Mahonia cuttings. If you're unsure what Mahonia is, have a look here6046stuart wrote: »While were on the subject of pests in the garden does anyone really know how to stop squirrels digging up all your bulbs and plants? Unless you adore them, beware that they don't get into your loft!!! We have a horror story about them (I'll keep it brief) as we weren't aware we had a hole that they made bigger and moved in - reproducing a litter the following spring! They sounded like rats with all the running around up there. No one would help us get them out as they're vermin and would only be killed!! We weren't going to do that, so luck was with us when work was needed on the walls and a young lad helped us get the entire family out then my DH repaired the hole and reinforced and danger areas with small metal sheets. What they could have done to the electrics is beyond belief!!!:eek:
Aside from all that I doubt there's anything you could do to deter them from digging to be honest. Though you could always pinch their nuts and see if that has the desired affect!!!
All the best,
