Last weekend i tried out 'Silent Roar' - a fertilizer soaked in essence of lion dung to scare the cats away.
So far it seems to be working...0 -
I am truly sorry but PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Cats keep fouling my lawn, i keep picking it up, 2 days later its covered again...
I have beautiful roses and some lovely flowers that i cant even smell due to the cat poo...
I have used the battery operated device, anti cat repellant powder, water in plastic bottles, cds, I am actually considering killing them!!!!(ok not really, for you animal lovers)
Its driving me bananas, i have blitzed the whole garden and have even got rid of the buried cat poo, but to no avail..
I am pleading with you for any other ways to stop this..
Thanks0 -
wow they are persistant. Are you home in the day? Can you spare a few hours to sit by the window with a water pistol and squirt them everytime they come anywhere near the garden? Time consuming but effective.0

It really sounds like you have a battle of feline territories on your hands I am afraid - soiling the lawn and garden is a method of territorial marking.
I personally have used a product called "Roar" which is actually fertiliser pelleted and steeped in essence of lion poo. It worked really well. The aim of this is to provide a predatorial threat (ie lions are bigger than cats) to the cats so they think - blow that, he's bigger than me - I'm off.
Other ideas can be found here. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

We had problems with cats and got so fed up of it the we got our out of date large packet of chilli powder and literally covered the garden with it. It kept them away for a while but they are back this year so we'll do it again. It does stink but smells better than cat mess!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

Think certain deterrents will work on some cats. I've ordered some of the Colleus plant thing to try in ours, not receievd them yet, thats had mixed reviews.
Other possibilities is raw garlic, orange & lemon peel and actual Lion poo. Think its going to be a case of trial and error really. The chiili powder sounds interesting might try that myself.2012 Mortgage Free Wannabe # 69Opening mortgage £126,000 19/05/00Ended 2011 £31,019:j£0.00 07/12/2012 :jNever put socks in a toaster.0 -
I had this problem too, and found the best deterrent is to mulch all around the plants with cocoa shells - garden centres sell them in big bags (one make is Sunshine of Africa), or you can get them online from some stores. I ordered 2 bags recently from crocus.co.uk, for £8.99 a bag - link here:

It's not a cheap option but they do go a long way and last for ages. They smell divine too - all chocolatey. Cats seem to hate the smell though, and I never see any cats in my garden after I've spread these around. This lasts for about 3 months as well, so end up being good value for money in my book!
They also don't get chucked around by birds (like chipped bark does), and eventually rot down and improve your soil.
Don't use if you have dogs though, as they are dangerous for dogs being based on the chocolate harvest.
