  • Don't cats bury their own poo?
  • There's a huge thread on Greenfingered - Help! cats using my grass as a loo.

I'll add this query to the existing thread to keep them all together :)

    Nope :)

As I understand it - dominant cats, (or wannabees) will leave their doings on top to mark their territory.

You can always tell when cat wars is on :)

Bit of a funny question, but anyone know how to stop cats pooping in the garden?

The neighbouring cats have decided to use my back garden as a litter tray, and im fed up with going out there and trying to dodge the piles of poo all over my lawn.

I don't let the kids play out there at mo, because its not clean or safe without me going out and checking all over for poo first.

Just wondered if there was anything OS I can do about it, apart from standing guard 24hrs a day to shoo em off :rotfl:

We are just preparing the garden for planting veg and have the same problem, They seem to especially like freshly dug earth. I have been told that mens wee is a deterent! trying to convince my husband to have a sprinkle out there! will let you know whether it works x :j

Yeah - I think that makes it worse - yeuch, nasty surpise
  • We have a neighbour who equally allows her cats to poo in all the local gardens - were pretty worse off because she was friendly with the previous owners of our house and the cat used to come round and see its friend the rabbit. Now we've moved in, it still thinks we are its personal toilet as well. I've found many a 'white nugget' in the ground.

I do object to the attitude of the cat owner - 'oh he's only does what natural' - shame I can't do the same. Just see it now, Local resident shoots cat! (Just before anyone quote me on this - I WONT don't worry). My defence - I was only doing what's natural (said in equally shrill and wailing voice of said neighbour).

I have young children who I'm encouraging to enjoy gardens but I've heard that cat poo can make young children go blind (or is this just an old wives tale?)

No its true i think, can also cause kidney problems and don't forget worms. My auntie keeps her cat on a lead!!! shocking to think such a wild animal can be tamed and not left to wonder around  If a cat is in my garden i chuck whats ever nearest, be it stones, water or anything else

Pelleted Lion Poo works. I bought some of this ages ago for my Aunt who's garden was being used as a toilet by all the local cats & it worked. The cats can tell it comes from a much bigger meaner cat so they stay away.

I know it sounds like a mad idea but this really did work where everything else had failed.

Leopard poo keeps away monkeys as well! Another useless fact I've picked up on my journies rtw. Because we're so plagued by monkeys..
