Our cat poos in our garden too - is there any way of encouraging her to poo anywhere else? - she has a litter tray which she never, ever uses. Maybe if I plant up the litter tray with compost and seed it and water it, and put it in the garden she would use that instead of the garden!
Thinking about it, I remember when we had a sandpit she would always use that - the second it was unattended with the cover off - which is why we had to get rid of it. I'll try a tray filled with sand instead.

Orange peel also works, but you need to refresh the peel about every 2-3 days.

Allegedly tinfoil too, but as the cat we had a problem with was crapping on the lawn it was not really practical

Funny you should say that - neighbour's mog sometimes comes in to see if he can cadge anything off me, sits in the kitchen purring happily. But - if I get the tinfoil out - he bolts in terror!! Doesn't like Tesco carrier bags either!

Apparently they do not like rubber snakes, place some in the garden where they dig.

Also, those foil shiny windmills that you can get from the seaside - a couple of those placed around the garden.

Of, make a scarecrow type thing and dangle tin foil from the arms so that it rustles in the breeze.

If they are doing it at night though they might not see them.

  • orange peel seems to have worked for me.

or it could be the fact that he compost i;ve dug in smells rather strongly still!

whichever - they don't like strong smells it seems
