Here is exactly my points. I do like animals, but not pet, and the real problem is, people tend to love pets more than human being.
think about it, daughters love their cats more than their parents... you forgot to feed the a cat and that could be a ground for a row...
Yeah, I'm cruel, but may be because I'm jealous of them, people prefer to care pets more than their relatives.
I have nothing against you if you like to have a pets, but don't let them in fooul my garden.
Look, your pet is in my garden, making a mess of it, and I' the evil one after all...Life should not be taken seriously, as no one would get out alive0 -
We had a cat/cats repeatedly doing their do in our front garden and tried various different methods of stopping them.
The one that worked for us was sprinkling olbas oil around the area. It's been quite a few weeks and still clear
p.s. am an animal lover and have recently adopted a kitten who will be kept indoors:)0 -
Zakony...i think u have a bit of a problem...
Fair enough you have your own opinion, but being jealous of the attention pets get?!
I really dont think you are right in your thinking that daughters love their cats more than than their parents!:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0 -
Cats are vermin. I just let my dog go after them and noted where they were escaping and blocked it off!
Now when I see one I just say "catsssssssssssss" to the dog and watch her chase it down a dead end where it has to find an escape route quick.
Personally, I don't see the point of cats. They're like a rubbish version of a dog which just eats, sleeps and then clears off for months when the old woman up the road starts feeding it.0 -
:rotfl: Sticking to the point! here i bought a friend some zoo poo from my local zoo, to deter the local feline population, and it works my 3 moggies left home for the night it really scared them. Its 7.99 from here https://web.ccsecure.co.uk/zoo_shop/zoo/products.cfm?category=8§ion=500

Actually cats aren't vermin. But mice, rats and the like are, and my cat catches all the disease ridden critters he can.
And yes you're right, they are prone to wandering into someone elses home, if they have a cosy lap and a nice bit of fish.
My dear old puss did the same until he was neutered (poor Scruffy), and now he dosn't stray too far.
You can't keep a cat in your own garden, and I don't much fancy your chances of training it, as they're considered to be 'wild' in law, unlike dogs. You are allowed to take steps to deter them from your garden, but you will be prosecuted for being cruel and using unreasonable means.
And why bother being jealous of a cat?!
The reaon cats are loved is because they are at once, soft, purry, loving, creatures, who snake around the ankles, gazing delightfully up at their owner, making you feel like the most wonderful person on the planet; but are equally independent and requiring little effort on the part of the owner, apart from feeding, letting in/out and gentle stroking.
As opposed to the daft dog (I have 2 of these too), who leaps about, tongue lolling with utter delight if you manage a return trip to the loo without being abducted by aliens. Need much walking, stroking, playing, booting off the bed, grooming, kennelling.... attention, attention, attention. Not that I'd have it any oother way.
How have I started typing in italics????
And don't forget, as I've mentioned previously, quite often, the only companion an elderly person may have, is a cat. Let's not deprive people of a little company, from a pet that requires little effort for the huge rewards it brings.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
One of the most well balanced, thoughtful and eloquent posts I've seen.
Who could argue with that?0 -

You've obviously not met my cats then
Both of them are quite happy to curl up with a snake snuggled into their fur
Water pistols are the best deterrant to cats but obviously you have to be there to "shoot" them with it! Once they've had a few soakings they'd be rather reluctant to return though"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hey, our crap ends up in the sea. Do you hear the fish complaining?
Just scoop it up and chuck it in the bin, or back over next doors garden when they're not looking. We have a cat, and the more we remove its poop from our garden, the less she poop there. Strange but its like they go back and sniff out where they last went. If she can't find it, she goes else where.0 -
Can somebody tell me where to find on of those cat silhouette things?
Thanks
