Help!cats using my garden as a loo (merged threads)

I have been battling with this for some time now but I seem to be winning this year it could be any one of 3 things;
1. There is a BIG rotweiller next door who is no longer a puppy and likes to chase cats (I also like to encourage her to chase any off my garden) Oh, and a smaller dog the other side with a big bark
2. I spent many long hours last year chasing any cats I saw off with the hose pipe.
3. I've had a fence put in and taken down the hedge at the bottom of the garden so they now have to jump to get out (very fast if they are being chased by the rotwieller :rotfl: )
So I'd suggest trying these, I've tried the pepper and the sprays etc. and the plants they don't like the smell off and they don't work. Haven't tried the noise things though incase they upset the dogs and make them bark and whine more than they do already
Signed, a pet lover :rotfl:
P.s I might not be a fan but I certainly don't condone using anything that will cause them actual bodily harm or kill them fast or slow  I think it's disgusting that anyone could think of doing that. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
I hate cats, dogs... pets...
why do you want them in the first place?
let me see one in my garden and I'll peel their skin offLife should not be taken seriously, as no one would get out alive0 -

sigh .... that is just so unnecessary. I have a deep suspicion of anyone who could harbour such vile thoughts about any animal. I wonder what you're really capable ofWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
charming zakony.
Actually I'm a cat lover, and dog lover.
The pellets are great, they really do work, we ried them when we had kittens, and they though behind the tv was a good loo!! I bough tthem in the Co op - the pellets, not the kittens.
Water pistols work, cats hate being wet.
Or loud noise, banging on a metal dustbin lid when they're about to go should work.
When they're 'going', they feel vulnerable, as would we all, so startling them at his crucial moment should prevent them returning too soon.
Please don't throw things at cats, or put nasty things down to upset their tums. They are peoples pets, and they are loved. Sometimes, a cat is the only companion an elderly peson has, so try to have a little compassion, to you they may be a nuisance, to osmeone else they're a reason to live.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Oh dear, that is a bit extreme. What do you do when a wild animal goes into your garden, do you kill it also?zakony wrote:I hate cats, dogs... pets...

Could you come and live near me please SnowyOwl?0 -
Seriously zakony people like you are pure evil seriously grow up there is no need for talk of peeling a defenceless animal skin - that is just disgusting.
Anyway as to the answer to the cat problem - a non violent or hurtful way to deal with it is to get one of those cat statue things with the green eyes - they really work - they are reasonably cheap and you can get them in most DIY stores or Argos I think do them as well.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I'm with zakony. I've nothing against anyone having a cat as long as they keep it in thier own garden. There are laws against dogs fouling in public places and there should be one against cats fouling other peoples gardens. Why are most people on the side of the cat owners? Don't the rest of us have the right to enjoy our gardens without this nuisance? And most modern day cats have got too lazy to even scratch a hole now.0

So you want to skin the Cats? Gees people lighten up - I suppose you'll want to start skinning the people who beg on the streets next because they are in public places! What about bird crap that lands everywhere - I know lets just kill all the birds! I think skinning of animals a little harsh!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
