Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

SA the emergency wee is a must 😂😂
The bedroom is coming along nicely. The curtains are now due Tuesday - we should be ready for them. We’re going away in Millie on Thursday…..it will be lovely to come home to a nice bedroom. I’d quite fancied a yellow light shade when we were in Dunelm, but I decided our old one would do. Mr Milann went and bought it for us yesterday. He’s earned his brownie points this week. 😃 It looks so bright in there already…..I didn’t like they grey/purple colour we had before. The idea sounded nice the reality was depressing. This project has really boosted me 😀😀😀
I cleaned the carpet with the vacuum carpet cleaner yesterday and want to clean the built in wardrobes to get rid of any paint splatter before heading to ds house for tea. I’ve just got to paint the cubby hole under the dressing table bit…..I forgot all about that 🙄January spends - £587.580 -
If the GP is happy that you can make a start on dealing with the cholesterol situation yourself through diet then they should also be willing to make a referral to an NHS dietician for you - so you can get some hard and fast factual advice from someone qualified. There is SO much misinformation out there and they risk you ending up with disordered eating and a poor relationship with food - far from ideal. The NHS website must also have some reliable information about reducing cholesterol I'm sure? I'd be wary of straying too far away from sources like that though - there are a lot of folk out there with a financial interest in selling (potentially harmful) dietary misinformation, sadly, and it can be very difficult to pick out the truth from the myth!
I add a handful of porridge oats to all sorts of things but yes, mince dishes is a favourite. Also stews - our big slow cooker when making a stew I always add a couple of handfuls of either oats or oatmeal and it gives a natural thickening effect and a lovely silky texture too.
I'm with SA on the essentially "making an appointment" for exercise too - when I basically consider my Monday after work and Friday morning gym sessions as "in the diary" and non negotiable I go and get a great sense of achievement from it afterwards - if I don't set those solid times though it's far more likely I'll fabricate an excuse not to go!
Glad that you're so pleased with how the bedroom is coming along too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I am all for avoiding any FAD diet, especially those that involve buying special foods. Some of them have barely a fraction less saturated fat & calories than regular food & they land up with all sorts of extra additives to make the taste, although they are better than they used to be. Those cholesterol drinks are known not to work for everyone. The doctor would not have agree so easily to you doing it by diet if it was really high.

I had a message yesterday saying the curtains would be delivered Tuesday although the shop said before Monday, I’ve had a text this morning saying before 10.40 and 11.40 but not sure if they mean today or tomorrow 🤷♀️I’ll know fairly soonish.
I've got a streaming cold….somebody has turned a tap on my nose. I haven’t slept since we’ve been doing the bedroom as we’re in the spare room. The bed is quite comfy for a fold down bed not sure why I’m waking between 2.30 and 3 and that’s my lot.
I found out yesterday we’re hosting Christmas this year….I’m half excited and half wondering if I can still cater for 7 😂😂😂 It’s fitting everyone in that’ll be the challenge…..along with everyone’s Christmas presents 😳 I’ll actually love it 😀 Putting money on the Asd@ card must have been an omen.I had a text from the window cleaner saying he was coming this morning, the insides are a disgrace so I’ve messaged him back asking him to do downstairs inside for me. Not sure how much it’ll cost but if it’s reasonable I might get him to do it each time. I can do upstairs as they’re not as high. Dh keeps saying he’ll do it but it’s not happening 😏 I still really struggle cleaning windows and cleaning the Bath since I had the op on my arm….it’s the pressure on my arm when it’s straight. Don’t think he’ll clean my Bath though.January spends - £587.581 -
I think he might draw the line at cleaning your bath 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Well I waited in until 2 yesterday when I had to go out to get a card in the post for dds birthday, there was no sign of said curtains. The first text said Tuesday delivery then I had a text saying they’d be delivered between 10.47 and 11.47. Anyway they did arrive at……5.35 last night- not sure what happened there, but at least I now have them. However Mr Ms mojo must have come to an end and we still have no curtain rails up. In his defence he is back at work and looked too tired to do anything last night. I have to turn them up as well.
My trip to sort a birthday card also ended up with a trip to Dunelm and new quilts and pillows ended up in my trolley. I am currently doing the ostrich head in the sand bit as I haven’t spent as much money as I have recently in a very long time. My old quilt must be nearly 20 years old and looking very bedraggled so it doesn’t owe us anything. I also bought one for the spare bedroom. When I was emptying the bedding box under my bed I realised just how bad they are….that one is well over 20 years old. Between Mr M and myself we must have spent £800 plus on getting the repair done to the ceiling, paint, bedding and curtains. 😳🤫 At least it’ll be bright and cheerful. I never liked the grey/purple colour - it really brought me down. So much for a quick lick of paint and wash everything once the repair had been done. On a plus side I’ve found some wool in my stash that I can make make a scatter cushion from saving me the price of a ball of wool 😂😂 I’ll go to the cheap material shop next week and make some covers for the window seat and recover my cheap IKEA stool……it’s coming together nicely 😃 The carpet Dh chose for the last refit and never matched the rest of the room now looks good too 😃
Todays plan is to put everything back and give the radiator another coat of paint once I’ve stopped going in and out of the room. I’ll try and at least pin the curtains up too.
Tomorrow will be tidy the rest of the house as we’re taking Millie Motorhome on her travels on Thursday until weekend….depending on the weather we’ll come back either Saturday or Sunday. We’re going to a town just over an hour away which we’ve passed through but never stopped at. There should be plenty of things nearby to keep us amused.
The window cleaner coming inside was a revelation to me. It takes me ages to do the front bay window…..ladders and standing precariously on the window sill to reach the top corners are involved when I do it. Never again 😀 it was worth every penny of the £4.50 extra to get it cleaned. Unbelievably Dh turned his nose up at me paying this - does he ever do them……yes - once every Preston Guild if the winds blowing in the right direction and there’s a y in the month 😏😂😂 The £4.50 is staying 👍👍😂😂
I slept better last night - my running tap on my nose turned into dramatic sneezing all yesterday afternoon. That seems to have settled and I just feel a tad blocked up now. Right off to put everything back. I’m so pleased I decluttered the wardrobes and under the bed a few weeks ago…..it’s just a case of putting back and not sorting 😉January spends - £587.581 -
Ha so much for just putting everything back and not sorting. I have masses of greeting cards. I do procrastinate and look at the every time I clean under my bed but it’s they only time I actually think about them….do I need them…NO can I part with them NO. They stay for now until I have time to go through and save the really important ones….the ones with my Mum’s handwriting and close relatives. I am putting them into new bags though that aren’t as dusty 😀 I’m really wondering if all this under the bed is adding to dh cough of 20 years and his increased wheezing in the wee small hours. There is a lot of dds artwork from her uni days……I move them in and out every time I clean…..and they are purely dust gatherers….time for them to take a trip to her house which is much bigger than mine 👍When I look at the spare room full of it all, I’m wondering how it all fits back 🙄January spends - £587.582

How exciting to have a newly spruced up bedroom. Sounds lovely.
I dread to think how much our window cleaner would charge for doing inside as well. He is expensive enough just to do the outside!!2 -
I really struggle to throw old cards away too. I have been watching clutter free Carly on Instagram as she talks some sense….not enough for me to tackle everything, but enough to make me wonder why I don’t 😁

I'm pretty good with cards etc - I keep those from really special occasions but that's it now. I can't claim to be generally good at not keeping all sorts of random stuff though! Definitely a good idea for you to dispatch DD's stuff off to her house though - especially if she should have more space than you to store it all!
As for the cost for the inside window cleaning - I should think it IS staying, what a bargain, and far safer than all that balancing by you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
