RS I’m not holding my breath she will take up the offer. I’d prepared a lovely buffet of her fave things that we don’t usually eat a few NY days ago…..she didn’t show or phone.Dh was worried but she didn’t pick the phone up and we couldn’t drive around as we’d had a drink. He went around the following day to be told she decided not to bother 🤷♀️😡😳 I swore never again as dh got into a real tizzy about her……but ….she looked so sad yesterday.January spends - £587.582

Sounds like family member hasn't changed very much then. I would leave it up to DH to decide. Would she expect to be picked up and dropped off ? Lovely gift for her birthday , very kind of you .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0

I wish I’d bought a bag for myself but they were all greeny shades and I haven’t got much to go with them…..plus I’ve spent way too much already on the bedroom decorating 😳January spends - £587.580

WinterWarrior said: I have tried overnight oats, but they were stodgy and chewy…if I try again it will be with milk instead of yoghurt, or more liquid to oats anyway.Half a pound is good, although Peter Kay’s comment is funny. I always wee before I weigh 🤣
I’m glad you had a good catch up.
I hope that makes sense

Thanks theoldmansmrs….I still can’t get my head around them. I’ve quite been enjoying my porridge but I’ll give it a go this way a go. Lots of folk at SW seem to swear by them.
Beanie it is very sad about the lady……she is her own worse enemy though, we’ve tried many many times to include and help her but you can only help somebody who wants to be helped.I finallly planted most of the bulbs and pansies I’d bought a while ago yesterday. I sat on a stool putting them in pots. I ached everywhere afterwards….certainly don’t like this getting old lark. I need to put a few more bulbs in the back garden - something cheerful to look forward to in spring.
I dropped card with a friend for her silver wedding yesterday. Dropped a duvet at the laundrette and will pick it up later £15 to get it cleaned but cheaper than a mattress protector and less going to landfill 😀
im popping around to a friend I used to work with a few jobs back later then planning on a bit of tidying, if it’s mot raining I’ll plant the rest of the daff bulbs. Tea will be something pulled out of the freezer with rice.
Dh came home with an air fryer yesterday. Just a small one from B&M we can take in Millie with us. I’ve not tried it yet….I’m still going to use my actifry for chips.
Hopefully my curtains should arrive tomorrow and I can get the house back to some kind of order before dd and the gks arrive next week.January spends - £587.581 -
It's sad about the relative but it's not like you haven't tried - when you first wrote about meeting her I was wondering if it was the same person who let you down by not turning up after all your efforts the other year - with behaviour like that and not even an apology - well, if she's made a habit of treating people like that it's not surprising she's lonely now. If DH does agree that he wants to invite her I'd personally be inclined to be very clear that she has to fit in with what is already planned and suits those of you who were already planned to be there - that was it doesn't cause any disruption or added expense if she decides to pull another no-show at the last minute. I can certainly see why you feel that you should invite her though - otherwise you'll just end up feeling guilty about it I guess?

Exactly my thoughts EH….I’ll tell her what time we’re eating and it’ll be up to her to get herself here and back home again. There’s always extra food on Christmas Day so if she turns up she’ll be welcome if not nothing lost. She might end up going to her dds though…even though at the moment she is adamant she won’t step over the doorstep again 🤞
I had a lovely lunch at my friends. I was out just over a couple of hours…..when I came home my curtains were on the doorstep…..I was expecting them tomorrow 🤷♀️ Hopefully dh will put them up tomorrow and I can sleep in my own bed again.
I picked my quilt from the laundrette £15 well spent 👍

Beanie I used to take them to a launderette near school which is a more well to do area and paid over £20 a few years back. Then when I stopped work I tried the one on my local high street which has really gone down hill….it looks a tad run down outside but the quilt has come out beautiful- just like new. I was surprised when they only said £15 😀 and then staff were really accommodating and friendly 😀January spends - £587.581
