I’ve just had a lovely catch up with a friend from work. She treated me to dinner and brought flowers 😃 I do miss her. I was quite pleased to get in though and chill, my busy week has well and truly caught up with me.
I need to total my September spends - I’m behind…..they are a lot higher than previous months as I’ve put some cash on a savings card for Christmas and bought several presents….I’ve noticed my coffee treats are creeping back up. I need to take stock.
I'm just watching a neighbour at the back standing on his extension with a makeshift wooden workbench that he’s using to stand on and put various tools on as he’s repairing guttering above 😱😱 Health and Safety would have a field day…..I’m half expecting a big bump 😳

  • Glad to hear you have had a lovely weekend. The walk down the canal is a regular family trip out with the dog.

I went to a U3A this morning and had a lovely time. I had intended going into town to a drop in centre for my covid jab but came home. We have a plasterer coming tomorrow 🤞 to sort the ceiling of the bay window out - it’s needed doing a long time after a leak which has been repaired and the curtains are just about still  hanging…..anyway I came home and moved everything except the bed into the spare room so that it doesn’t get full of plaster as he knocks the old stuff out. There wasn’t much but it took all afternoon by which time I was shattered and didn’t end up going for my jab after all. We’re going to emulsion the room ourselves rather than get somebody in….Dh will paint and I’ll supervise 😂😂
I want to wash the curtains….there’s a bit of mouldy staining on the bottom of them and they’re not very old so I’ll have to try and sort that…..white vinegar seems to be the thing to try. Hope it works as it’s a big bay with a 2 nd window at the opposite end of the room - not cheap to replace…..and I like them.
I really hope this workman doesn’t mess me about…..wonder if he’ll have car troubles 😂😂😂

Workman turned up…….well actually 3 workmen. It’s finished …..and he sorted a different job for us whilst he was here. I’m hoping the job he’s done will sort out some damp we’ve had in the hall….it’s a matter of wait and see and a process of eliminating possible sources of damp ingress. I can’t think of what else it might be though….so fingers crossed it’ll work.

I could cry….I took my curtains out of the washer and they’re totally wrecked. They were blackout curtains and all the lining has stuck together. As I e tried to separate them it’s torn. I’ll have to buy new curtains 😕

If the lining is sererate you might ba able to detach fully and replace lining rather than front bit of curtain you see if that makes sense.

What a nuisance 🙁 Blackout lining is really easy to damage, which I found out when Mr SA got glue on my brand new curtains 😬
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I was so cheesed off I went out this afternoon. I had a mooch around Dunelm at some curtains but nothing said wow to me…..I headed to the Range….they only had eyelet ones….we need pleated tops. I looked at paint for the bedroom but need to know what colour curtains I’m having first. I went to B&Q they had hardly any curtains in. I was going to get  some gloss paint and brushes…..nearly got to the till and thought I’d put them back and try B&M…..exactly the same paint £3 cheaper…..different paint brushes but £3 cheaper again. I wasn’t impressed with the curtains at either of the last shops. Not totally wasted as I got some white gloss for the woodwork. I’m undecided whether to just get the same curtains so that I only need to replace the front bay…..but if I’m spending silly money I feel I need to create a different look….so buying an extra pair for the back window will give me a new look. It’s a total pain having 2 windows…..and the front bay needs 2 sets 😳or made to measure 😱

  • The last curtains I got for my bay was from a Julian Charles outlet.  They were reasonably priced. Might be worth a Google
