Winter Worrior if it were a ruby wedding I might have 😂😂😂😂 I’ve never quite got all the fuss about red velvet cake. I can take or leave it. I think the right one went out last night 👍. 

My cake will be for a Golden Wedding anniversary. I’m quite pleased there will be an afternoon tea for these close friends as I was in a real dilemma about what to do about a card and present for them. The 50th anniversary groom is now in a care home and half the time doesn’t know his wife (she was always the centre of his universe) but I knew I had to do something for the former bride…..being asked to make the cake will be my present for them both 😀 It’s sad…..bet they weren’t expecting a care home party…..they’ve celebrated other milestones with holidays 😢. Gotta make the most of every day 👍😀
On that note I’m going to the gym. I haven’t been for a couple of weeks as I’m have a lot of problems with both my hip and ankle - but stopping using them isn’t going to do me any good. I haven’t walked to my happy place for ages and if I have been out have only walked very short distances. So it’s time to get up off my behind. My gym membership is up for renewal and I was in 2 minds what to do about it. I’ve decided to renew - it works out at £6.70 a week. I need to use it though for it to work - both in fitness and in paying for itself. A bit like SlimmingWorld having the card to say your doing it isn’t enough 😂😂😂who knew 😏

I went to the gym and renewed my membership. Not only did I pay upfront for a year I have taken an extra service which is £15 a month but I get towels included in the deal. Many years ago they included towels and I went virtually every day as I didn’t have to mess about washing and drying them - I have to admit it does put me off. That kicks in on Monday. I will also get 2 extra guest passes a month and access to some other things…blow up trouser things that stimulate the circulation is one of the things…..I also realised I had the wrong times in my head for the cheaper off peak package I have……I thought it was between 9.30 and 3.30 but it’s 6 until 4.30…..not that I intend to be there at 6 am 😳😂😂😳😳😂😂
I also went in Asda. Last Christmas I put some cash on a savings card….pushed it deep into my purse so I didn’t pull it out by mistake and totally forgot about it. Anyway at weekend I asked about it when I was in a store. It’s still valid…..so I’m going to top it up to it’s max which will give me a £15 bonus in November for having £280 ish on it. So I’m going to put cash on each week until I get there……there’s no way I’d earn £15 in a bank in 2 months on £280ish. Anything not spent at Christmas can be spent at a later date. I also got one of the Bonus cards

We’ve just booked a workman to make a new ramp and decking area for us. Dh made the last one years ago and it’s now got a dip in the middle which creates a massive puddle which is like an ice rink when it freezes. Dh has been talking about doing it for ages but I think the thought of doing it again is putting him off and he didn’t know where to start. So fingers crossed the man will turn up next Friday as promised. We’re also going to get somebody in to re plaster the bay in our bedroom - we’ve been putting this off since we had the new kitchen….and getting the boiler man back to put a new shower in. All the little jobs that need doing are beginning to get to me. Then it’ll be getting somebody to make a cupboard around the boiler…..Dh was going to get a cupboard from Howdens but true to form they’ve discontinued the ones we had…….why is everything complicated😏
I’ve just come back from Slimming World with a bag of goodies…..miracle of miracles - I got Slimmer of the Week. 😂😂😂😂 I only lost 1 lb so it was a slow week 😂😂😂 I’ll happily take it though 😀

Don’t think I’ll loose a LB this week…..I’ll loose £5 (or thereabouts) from my purse though. I went to a big town by the river about an hours ride from here yesterday with Dh and ds and went to an amazing Turkish restaurant we’ve had our eye on for a while but never been able to get in…..anyway yesterday was the day….yum yum yum. We went for a little walk and kept sitting for rests. We were watching the ferry - as made famous in the song by Gerry and The Pacemakers and although we got to the town a lot - we’ve never actually been on the ferry. So we had a circular trip along the Mersey and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We finished by going to John L to use the vouchers they sent us for coffee and cake. We had 4 cakes and 3 drinks for the price let sum of £2.75 😀👍
So today has been a lazy day with a quick trip to the garden centre where I bought some baby veg plants £9 worth of plants for £1.50 👍😀 and 2 free cups of tea using points from the loyalty card.
I’m livid as I’ve just heard that my friend in nursing home, completely out of the blue, been given a months notice as the home is stopping taking people with nursing needs. His wife is frantically trying to find somewhere to take him…..but there are fewer taking the nursing side of things on…..it’s a bit of a nightmare 😡😡😡 The care system is a total disaster area 😢😢
