Had a lovely few days. We celebrated our wedding anniversary by having a lunch at our favourite Greek restaurant then we travelled to a seaside town about an hour and a half away. We stay out of the centre which can get noisy and crowded, but we pottered on the outskirts, had a drink and saunter along one of the piers then watched the sunset before heading home. So it was a lovely day.
I didn’t move out of the house on Saturday as I could barely put my foot on the floor even though I’d taken it very easy the previous day at the seaside. Ds came around yesterday and we visited an ice cream farm. There was a lovely walk through a wild flower field which was littered with some beautiful wicker animals. There was a giant wicker bee as a centre piece. We finished with a drink at a lovely little canal side pub. I’d left some curry in the slow cooker so a nice easy tea when we got in. It was rather tempting to get food at the pub but we saved £60ish by eating at home 😇
Got to drop something in at the GP surgery  this morning then I need to come home and do a bit of housework. Best get a move on.

We did indeed have a lovely day. Nothing too exciting but I love nothing better than seeing the sea.
I had a surprise message from the teacher I used to work for……she had said she would sort out a leaving do after I finished work…..but not a lot materialised. In my eyes it’s too long for a leaving do now. There’s been a whole school year since I finished and I was off for a year on the sick before that. The leaving do boat has long since sailed. But she asked me to go for an afternoon tea on Thursday. I think there will be a couple of others from work there too. I very nearly said no…stick it……I haven’t heard from you for 2 years. But I had some very happy times there so I’m going to go. It will be strange seeing some of the people again. I will bite my tongue about lack of contact and accept with good grace 😉 after all it’s been a strange couple of years for everyone.

Happy anniversary!  Wow - 44 years!  Your day sounded ideal with a lovely romantic sunset to finish it off!😃💕
I hope you enjoy your 'leaving do ' afternoon tea even though you have reservations. Because of the pandemic it was seven months after my leaving date before I had mine - and I actually hadn't been in the office for a year before this!  It was nice to see all my ex-colleagues again (I picked the guest list though so it was only those I liked on it!🤣).  As you say, it's been a strange few years.....

I started with great intentions yesterday of doing lots of housey things…..cleaning the window in the kitchen was high on the agenda. All I did was drop something off at my GP and nip in the chemist next door to request a repeat prescription oh and I managed to push the hoover over the living room floor and I was zonked. Not sure if it’s the heat but I’m feeling shattered all the time. When we do go out- I’m spending more and more time sitting resting. By the time we finished our walk by the sea last week I was sitting on every bench we passed 😡😡😡 it’s driving me mad.
So today I’m starting with the kitchen window and window ledge…….and see if I can muster any more enthusiasm once I get started.
I need to pop out for some bread and milk. No other spends planned.
I’ve lost track of my spends for August so need to tally up what I’ve spent so far….don’t think it’s too bad though…..there have been no big expenses yet.

I'm feeling rather like you re jobs and the heat. My windows need cleaning and I keep putting it off with the excuse that you shouldn't clean windows when it's sunny as they will smear.....🤣
