milann said:Badmemory…..he didn’t actually name anyone. More about figures and he mentioned the private hospital he also works with. I couldn’t quite believe what was happening 🙄 I do wonder if I was at the other hospital if he’d had been on the phone whilst I was in the room 😡I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. 😂😂it is a bit like Russian Roulette as to which doctor you get…..at the same surgery there is a doctor who wouldn’t give me a sick note after having my forearm reconstructed and told me I had 2 arms - use the other one and get 2 buses to work because I couldn’t use my arm to drive. The hospital overruled him and kept me off several months longer and I’m pretty sure he got a rocket up his behind 😳 the one I spoke to yesterday is one of the partners.
Today I’m making some lemon butterfly buns to take to a friends garden party this afternoon. She is raising funds for Alzheimer’s. I’m looking forward to it……I’m hoping the rain we had overnight keeps away just long enough for the event. It was so lovely to wake up cold in the night and snuggle back under the covers instead of feeling constantly overheated 😁January spends - £587.581 -

Enjoy your garden party this afternoon and fingers crossed on the rain keeping away. 🤞Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

The sun came out half an hour before it started and continued all afternoon. The lemon butterfly buns were delicious- even if I say so myself. 😂😂😂think there may well be a few gains at SW this week as several of us were there. The host said she was selling some of a deceased relative’s craft stash…..there was a garage full…..all really good stuff. I am now the proud owner of 10 balls of navy yarn for a cardi I’ve had the pattern for a couple of years, but didn’t want to pay the price, a Christmas knitting and crochet pattern book and 2 patterns to sew tops…..my purse is a tad lighter but had I bought the same in the shop would have been much, much lighter. Craft stuff has always been my downfall. I was fairly restrained considering how much stuff there was and how cheap it was…..and it was all going to charity. They’d made nearly £700 as I was leaving and there were still people arriving. The cash I spent came from the incidental cash I have in my purse…..I need to reign in now as there isn’t a lot left until next month’s allocation. And I want to be able to have a little bit left at the end of the month to go towards my Christmas money.
I got a fair few reduced things yesterday when I went shopping. I haven’t seen stickered things for a while. 😁Right I’m off to do some crochet. I think today has inspired me 😁 been feeling a tad humdrum recently 😏 I’ve got a few projects on the go….hopefully doing them in between this new cardi will keep me going 👍January spends - £587.582 -
I’m glad you had good weather for the garden party. The weather hasn’t been great here, lots of rain. The craft stuff sounds like a bargain and all going to a good cause. Happy crafting 😀I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I spent last night and this morning catching up on ironing…..sitting watching The secret She Keeps as I did so. I can’t remember if I watched it first time around. I’m remembering bits of it so I must have watched it- probably with an eye on the tv and an eye on the iPad 🙄 It’s been too hot to pick an iron up recently. It’d be interesting to know whether drying clothes and folding is more cost effective than air drying but having to iron them. I hate it when I have a backlog but it’s done now and I’m chilling. Typical though I got my crochet out but realised the arm can’t cope with ironing and crochet on the same day.I bought some reduced avocados the other day and have just made a big bowl of guacamole. Mmmm-mmmmm-mmmmm I’ve had to restrict my portion size though and did have lots of salad with it - I could just sit and eat a bucket full 🤪🤪
I’m so pleased it’s cooled down. I actually woke up feeling refreshed this morning.January spends - £587.581 -
I had a reply from the email I sent asking why people in London get their bus pass at 60 but we need to wait until our retirement age. I really didn’t expect an answer. It didn’t get me anywhere though as they said basically what I already knew…it’s down to individual councils and my council has decided to use the money for youngsters…..which I do agree with. Just narks me that if I lived elsewhere I could travel for free now 😏 and other councils look after the youngsters too. It’s been a long day today. Dh has been out most of the day and I’m used to him being around on a Thursday - we often do things together. And because I’m bored - crisps and cake have jumped straight into my mouth 🤷♀️ Why do I do it…..and it’s weigh in tomorrow think I need a big roll of gaffer tape across my mouth 😂😂😂
I need to sort some finances out next week. I’d tried to open a savings account a few weeks ago in branch but had to cancel and I keep meaning to rearrange. I also need to open a Premium Bond account. I also tried doing this a while ago but it kept saying the passwords we used to open it didn’t match as I put them in, Dh was by my side as I typed and they did. I could have been a millionaire if they’d worked 😂😂 I don’t want to fritter the cash away but want to be able to get at it if I need it. I’ve been very undecided what to do with the cash I got from the early retirement lump sum. It’s been sitting in my bank earning not a lot of interest for the past year. I’ve not touched it though as it has to last a very long time. It’s not a massive amount by any means, but there won’t be anymore lump sums coming my way…..unless of course I manage to get online and have a Premium Bond win 🤞😂😂😂January spends - £587.583
