Last night I went to a get together of the charity I used to help out at. We haven’t met since before lockdown and unfortunately won’t be meeting as we used to anymore. There have been various complications and the upshot is we won’t meet fortnightly anymore in the hall, but have a social get together every couple of months. Last nights was for a meal in the local pub. It was so lovely meeting all the youngsters most have additional needs, some of whom I’ve worked with in various settings since they were toddlers. I’ve never been hugged so many times 😃I had to pass the house of a lady I worked with to get back to my car, she saw me out of the window and I ended up going in for a cuppa. It was a lovely evening and didn’t cost me a penny 😁
I went back to SW this morning….re-set everything and am starting as a new member again.
Whilst in SW my phone kept ringing- I thought it was spam so just blobbed the calls. It was the hospital. Over a year ago I’d seen a rheumatologist who recommended a treatment……I’ve been waiting ever since. When I was sorting my paperwork out the other day I found the letter and phoned and left a message asking how long the waiting list was as I’d been waiting over a year. The phone calls were from hospital asking me if I could go in today- absolutely full of apologies as the paper trail hadn’t gone through. I said I could only make it from late afternoon as i and a previous appointment (I’ve been waiting to see Downton Abbey for ages)That was no good to them so I go at 9.30 on Monday…..they said expect to be at least 3 hours. Sounds like a fun day😉not.January spends - £587.580 -
I enjoyed Downton. It’s an Art Deco theatre and when they show films the always have the organist playing and he waves as his organ comes up and goes down from in front of the stage. It’s like a blast from the past 😁
Edit…..I mean his piano like organ - nothing else 😳🤪😂😂😂January spends - £587.581 -
Blow me…..it’s like blooming busses. All or nothing 😳😂
The phone rang a few minutes ago and they said it was the the hospital. I thought it was to do with when I go on Monday. Nope twas the orthopaedic department about my ankle….offering me a cancellation appointment for…….you’ve guessed it….MONDAY. You couldn’t make it up. I can only assume because they’ve messed up the paperwork for rheumatologist appointments my file has flagged up that I’m also waiting for orthopaedics. Anyway he said I’m top of the list and they’ll contact me ASAP. Don’t think I’ll be losing the 2 stone I want to loose before that then 🙄January spends - £587.580 -

The art deco theatre sounds fabulous. What a palaver with the hospital 🙄I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

The theatre is a little gem. They do a lot of filming there…..the explosive theatre scenes in Peaky Blinders were filmed there.
Not a lot happening today other than a trip to Sainsbury’s for a couple of bits. I’m tired I was up several times in the night - the meds I’d had a couple of weeks ago have worn off and I’m having tummy agro again😏January spends - £587.580 -
So today we went to see ds. We decided to go for a walk in a beauty spot about 15 minutes from his house. It looked grey but we went for it. Oh my goodness the minute we got out of the car it started raining……more of a drizzle. We said it’d pass over and we all had coats on……so we’d carry on...it bounced down. I’ve not been in driving rain like it for a long time….made my face sting with the wind behind it 💦💨💦💧💧💧 My front was dripping, my back was too and it met in the middle and trickled everywhere. My coat was shower proof, but not torrential rain proof. We had a good laugh and enjoyed the day. I couldn’t sit like I’d usually do as the benches were dripping so was a tad sore by the time I’d finished We had to change clothes when we got back to ds house…..I had some old decorating clothes from a few years back I’d kept there, so Dh ended up wearing my jogging pants covered in paint. We both wore ds t shirts. Dh offered me some of his jeans…..couldnt pull them above my hips so ended up wearing some pj bottoms. We looked a right pair 😂😂😂 Ds was going to cook but we were all so shattered after being so wet, he treated us to a Chinese instead. (I only had a small portion 😇 didn’t go for 2nd or even 3rds ) We watched the film Aretha about Aretha Franklin which I really enjoyed. Spoke to the gks who are very excited because they are moving house this week. My only spends were on a present sent to the girls for their new garden, hopefully it’ll keep them busy whist mum and dad sort things out 👍
Early start tomorrow as I’m at the hospital for 9.30.January spends - £587.580 -
It eventually went well this morning at the hospital. They did bloods first and couldn’t do any more until they had the results. They said it would be about half an hour - 2 hours later. Once the results were in a saw a consultant who authorised it all but kept insisting this was my 2nd lot……I kept telling him it was only my 1st. He was insisting he’d phoned my GP who said I’d had one last May……I told him that was when it was authorised and I’d been waiting ever since. I did eventually get through to him 🤨 it was 2 o’clock by the time I got out. But everyone was lovely and I enjoyed reading my book whilst being brought cups of tea…..I refused the biscuits 😇😇😇. They said take it easy foe 36 hours and I might feel slightly fluey……so far so good 👍 I am going out tomorrow afternoon but nothing strenuous…..meeting a mse/ rl friend for a coffee in big shopping mall 😁January spends - £587.581
