Got to the 40s at work. Thankfully it is cooling down quickly here now.1

Cooled quite nicely here outside. I’ve just come in after sitting in the garden. Ended up in spoons for tea - very nice it was too 😁
I want to do some deadheading tomorrow if the weather is more amenable 🤞 I’ve been very disappointed with the garden this year…..we’ve lost a few plants because I’ve neglected the watering and feeding with being away so often 😏January spends - £587.581 -
It had cooled down nicely last night outside but once back inside it was like walking into an oven, which made for a sleepless night with several sessions sitting by the open spare bedroom window trying to cool down. Dh was up and out for 5.30 this morning and I’ve been wide awake since, so quite out of character have I decided to get up 😳Sitting here I can see a big clean is in order so if it stays as cool I’ll be starting a mega sort out….several cupboards are bursting at the seams, several corners have ‘stuff’ that need clearing, the windows need a clean. It won’t all be done today but I’ll make a plan and give it a go.
Not wanting to scare myself silly I’m going to have a rolling list…..no more than a few things added to the bottom as the top items get crossed off 👍
With a plan hatching I’m off to get some breakfast and find a notepad to hatch a plan 👍
On our way out of spoons last night I called into a little Morrison’s next door. I got more yellow stickered goodies than I’ve had in a loooonnnnnggggg time 😁

Just checked the indoor temperature- it’s still 28 degrees- at 8 am, with every door and window open under cloud cover……hopefully it’ll cool down quickly 🤞January spends - £587.580

It was still 31 degrees in our bedroom despite all of the windows and doors being open last night.
30 in the kitchen!
Hoping it is going to cool off today while we are at work.0 -
I didn’t check bedroom temp last night but it was a lot hotter than it is down here this morning. The heat hit as you walked into the room 😳 I’m guessing over 30 easily- don’t want many more nights like that 😳 RS we’re not millions of miles away from each other….just a few hills between us - were the other side of them there hills 👍January spends - £587.581

1st thing on my list is tackle a frog I’ve been putting off for a long time. Going through my boxes of paperwork. There are all sorts of letters regarding early retirement, DWP and hospitals just piled on top of one another which need sorting 😳 I’ve been putting it off for ages 🤪🤪😳
Im half way through the first box……have phoned about an overdue hospital appointment. I was getting concerned that it had been lost in the post. It hasn’t - just a backlog. I’m happy to wait. Just wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed it.
Quick stop for dinner and I’ll crack on. Rewatching Downtown in the background to keep me sane 😏January spends - £587.580 -

I completed the frog. I’ve got a bag full of old wage slips, pension forecasts and general junk to burn at some point.
It’s been a long day doing it as in a strange way it was sad thinking I had no use for my old life. I went up to do a bit of ironing once I’d finished….there were only a few bits to do from weekend. 10 minutes in and BANG…..the fuse had blown. Lights worked but anything on a socket went kerplunk 😳🤪 I debated switching the switch myself but couldn’t remember which one to flick so I waited for Dh to come in about an hour later. I really need to get my head around doing these things. If anything happened to Dh I’d be lost.
Bargainous lamb chops from my haul last night were delicious. We just about had enough potatoes for chips and I tossed all the mushroom, tomato and 1/2 an onion knocking around from the bottom of the fridge. I haven’t had that for ages and really enjoyed it. I really must do some shopping tomorrow. Can’t believe it’s a week tomorrow since we headed to Bath. Wasn’t particularly bothered about it but really enjoyed it 👍January spends - £587.580 -
Lol I had intended going back to Slimming World in the morning now my busy few weeks have finished. I’d hoped to have lost 1/2 stone in my few weeks absence alas I think I’ve put that amount on.Anyway I had to nip to Sainsbobs to return some of the clothes I’d bought Dh a couple of weeks ago that didn’t fit. At the entrance was a sign advertising cream teas in the cafe…..what do I do but decide to have a last fling and finish my week off with a treat. I’m sitting enjoying my scone when I spot a lady that is the image of my SW consultant but with glasses doing some work on a laptop. I sat about 10 minutes - yes it is - no it isn’t. 😂😂😂😂I’d even contemplated taking a photo of said lady to show at SW tomorrow- saying beware as she’d taken to hanging abut in cafes to catch folk out 😂😂😂( it’s the sort of silly humour we have 👍) Anyway I decided snapping strangers wasn’t the done thing. This lady does no more than take her specs off and smile and wave at me……it was said lady from SW. I joined her and we had a good laugh, put the world to rights for at least half an hour. The upshot is I’m going at 8am and I’ve told her she has to be mean to me and show me a bit of tough love. I suspect I now need to loose a couple of stone to get back to target. I’ve thrown so much money down the drain….but I know it works and I’m going to do it before my orthopaedic appointment comes through…..I know it’s no good for my ankle, hip or tummy 🙄
I did some shopping whilst there….all the t shirts I’d bought Dh a couple of weeks ago we’re now 1/2 price😏. We needed them when we bought them though and full price was still cheaper than a lot of places. I had a voucher for 300 nectar points if I spent £10 on clothes so bought him some much needed socks and another t shirt - 1/2 price this time I was very careful what foods I put in my trolley - lots of fruit and veg and no more cakes or biscuits……didn’t want SW lady catching me out again. I’m happy with the purchases though as I didn’t spend as much as expected on my jaunt to Bath 👍
I’m going to see Downton Abbey in the morning at the little Art Deco theatre in my local town the organ still comes up from the ground when they show films 👍January spends - £587.580
