I’m always wary of books that have won prizes, more often than not they’re actually not that interesting just very wordy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I agree for both films and books…often you are left wondering what you just watched or read. I also hate a ‘non ending’…just tell me what happened!!The statue was very interesting, I’ve not heard of it before. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

WW we have passed the statue many times on the way to Liverpool, but could only see the tip over the trees. It was recently on a Netflix serial call Stay Close ( or something similar) so we said we would make an effort to visit after doing a bit of research. It was a haven for flora and I saw many different butterflies. Only an hour or so to walk around the site but I’m really pleased we made the effort.
Not sure what possessed me to think it might be a NSD today……£55 later. I did restock Dh drinks fridge with cider and beer and bought a beery gift for my friends hubby who has reached pensionable age this week….made sense to make the most of the offers that were on whilst buying the gift and it will last Dh ages 😁👍. I also did very well buying several packs of minced steak for 67p each, cake for 45p and 49p for Warburtons seeded bread, alas no lamb was to be had. In fact the butchery department and veg department were looking very sparse after the holiday. My friend came around with a bottle of wine, so a lovely lazy afternoon putting the world to rights, Dh was running trains in the garden - very relaxing. We will be going away for a few days to see Micky Bubbles in July so we’re chatting about it. We have been friends nearly 60 years but never actually been away together…could be interesting 😂😂
DH has just booked our next few days away in the MH, the week after next….looking forward to it 😁 Berwick upon Tweed and down to the Durham area…..will see where we end up 😁January spends - £587.581 -
Oh lovely going up North East, look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.Glad to hear you had a good Easter weekend. Your shopping trip proved to be a good one .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

A big pan of chilli for Dh ( hope it’s ok as it’s a dish I throw food in and don’t taste as I don’t get on with chilli at all 🤯🤢) Dh can check and adjust accordingly when he gets in…..and a big pan of bolognaise for us both from the reduced priced mince 😀 I do like a bargain. I’ll let it cool and portion up for the freezer.A bit of a chilled day here. I had a chat with a RL MSE friend this morning and had a bit of a tidy and potter around type of day.
Tomorrow I’m debating a visit to the big shopping mall with a M&S voucher I’ve had since last September…..I was going to treat myself with my birthday voucher after I’d lost weight 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂……the numbers on the scales are growing. Not sure why I’m laughing as it’s getting me down a tad BUT if I will stuff my face with all manner of niceties what do I expect 😏 Only myself to blame. And the said voucher is burning a hole in my pocket for some reason. Will see what tomorrow brings.
I've been awake again since 4 - my hip is really waking me up at night. Roll on 2 nd week in May when I have another steroid injection.
I’ve just watched a u tube video of a young lad on BGT. He has the same condition as many of my family and is basically laughing at his situation. It brought a tear to my eye as he needs that wicked type of humour to get him through life……he has had it tough by the look of him. The judges were laughing along. I must watch the show on catch up to see if he gets through.January spends - £587.581 -
Maybe cut your losses and buy nice food with the m&s voucher 🤣 (I would, but I do miss m&s food…I’d kill for a white choc chip cookie right now)…Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good idea WW. It was a birthday present though for some clothes as the person who gave it knew I struggle to get clothes to fit me…..so I will probably buy clothes and food if I don’t see anything I like 😁👍January spends - £587.581

Dh took his car for its mot. £300 later…….but it’s all done now for another year. My car is next along with my insurance and breakdown cover. An expensive few weeks. I do keep wondering whether to get rid of my car as I don’t use it much….but when I need it I need it……decisions decisions. Will keep things as they are for a while but if it gets to a stage where I can’t afford it - it will go.January spends - £587.581

It might be worth weighing up the cost of keeping your car versus the cost of public transport or a taxi when you need to go somewhere.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Thanks SA. That’s what I’ve been doing and just don’t want to part with it deep down, I’ll hang on to it a bit longer…..I’ll know when the time is right to get rid.Well my plans to go to spend my M&S voucher was scuppered by an expected delivery. Dh has ordered an electric cable for the motorhome and it’s being delivered today. He has also ordered a new stick vacuum cleaner which is also coming today. I’ve wanted one for a long time but couldn’t decide which one to get…..I’ve tried several in the shops but they’ve been too heavy for me to manoeuvre. Anyway whilst at ds house he was showing me his new one. I tried it and it seems ok to use. I can’t remember what the make is but at just over £100 it’ll hopefully make life easier. Dh surprised me with it…….and they say romance is dead 😂😂😂😂😂 it used to be bunches of flowers or chocolate not dust busting appliances 😂😂😂😂😂😂January spends - £587.581
