    1 step forward 2 steps back 😏
I started tidying yesterday downstairs…..the sunshine broke through but boy did it show the dust up. So I started cleaning skirting boards, ornaments and paintwork. I got to a stage where I couldn’t manage anymore so I have continued this morning. The windows are now sparkling too…..with a bit of help form Dh 👍😳 I have a vax carpet cleaner which I do the carpet with a couple of times a year. This has always been a tad temperamental and I thought it was to do with my dodgy grip. Anyway it wouldn’t work this morning so Dh decided to have a look at it…….some kind of grommet came out……so the contents of the water tank has spewed all over my carpet. It is now is pieces with Dh cursing as he is trying to repair it 😏 So my quick tidy up for Easter……turned into a bit of an epic session.
The bedding is washed and waiting to go back on the bed and the bathroom just waiting for fresh towels. So some progress has been made.
In a bid to do a bit of money saving - when we had the kitchen fitted a couple of years ago, we decided to get loose baskets for some of the spices, instead of the fitted ones…….I’ve measured lots and lots of different ones and none of them fit…..so I bought some sink draining tubs from IKEA at a couple of quid each as an interim they were ok but balanced a little precariously. I think I’ve actually found some that’ll do the job in B&M. I measured them and it looked promising- so Dh popped out this morning and brought 2 back - hey presto……they fit. So he said he’ll pop back after he’s finished wrestling with carpet cleaner for another couple 😁👍 Bonus - he has paid for them 😆😆👍👍 Better £16 from his wallet that my purse 👍👍
    Have a lovely Easter everyone…….

A lovely day out with Dh and Ds yesterday. We visited ‘The Dream’ sculpture which was featured in a Netflix show last year, we then went to a seaside town for fish and chips and had a walk along the pier in the sunshine and then drove to a NT site well known for its red squirrels- we didn’t see any. We have found that a short walk, car ride for a break and repeat works best for us these days. The walk around the NT place turned out to be longer than expected as we must have taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way 😳 On our way home we stopped to recover for a drink in a chain of pubs well known for having its loos up the highest flight of stairs in a far flung corner of the establishments 😂😂😂 As I was walking back down the stairs…..I had to chuckle as a lady asked if I was ok and if I needed help. I must have been hobbling more than I’d realised 😂😂😂😂
Lazy day pottering today……I’ve got the urge to do some knitting. I haven’t crocheted or knitted for best part of a year since a neighbour asked me to crochet a couple of blankets and it put me off. Anyway I’m knitting a black cardigan for my eldest gdd. A sign of her growing up asking for black rather than pink and lilac. I’ll crochet a pretty pink one for her sister 👍

The Dream…..built on a former coal mine. The sentiment is anything is possible in a dream. A lovely site now…..full of plants attracting beautiful butterflies. I bet the miners of bygone days couldn’t imagine that.

Dh wanted to go out today as the weather was so beautiful. We had a sandwich at home before we left and drove half an hour or so to a craft, antique and activity centre, we had an ice cream sitting in the sunshine. I entered 2 craft shops but didn’t buy a thing 😇😇😇 I have so many projects I want to do already.
There is a forest nearby and Dh asked if I fancied a walk but I didn’t have the energy. I’ve got big red blotches all over my lower legs after our walk yesterday. This often happens if I’m on my feet - GP didn’t know what they were last time I mentioned it…..not sore or itchy just looks horrendous. It lasts a few days then fades to a browny colour and disappears.
We did call to a little lake and sit on a bench people watching - there were quite a few on paddle boards so was very entertaining 😁

The blotches sound like some form of heat-rash type thing don’t they - albeit by the sound of it perhaps more triggered by activity than heat as such. Sounds like you’ve had a lovely few days though and that sculpture is amazing - very thought provoking too.

I’m intrigued by the blotches HE. Ive never been able to get to a GP when they’re bad so have previously shown pictures…..I have been to a chemist when they are bad - she suggested bleeds from capillaries under the skin. Makes sense as it’s often after I’ve walked. I have been onto Mr Googly and the photos that come up seem to suggest this. I’m not messing around trying to get them diagnosed though - just my vanity as they look awful. Well hidden under trousers 😁👍
We had a lazy day with ds yesterday. He’d cooked for us and we watched a film…..it had won an Oscar - we did wonder if the folk voting for the  oscars had actually watched the same film as we didn’t rate it much……but what do us poor mortals know 😏 It still passed for a lovely afternoon though.
Dh had been culling his cookery books and somehow they have ended up here. I do love a cookery book…..but tend to use my old favourite recipes. No idea where we are going to put them…….
No plans as such today. Salmon for tea and I might pop around to Mr M to see if any more lamb has been delivered as it’s still Easter Weekend and I’m not sure when the offer finished.
I put my French Beans into pots outside yesterday….only 4 of them. Freebie seeds from when we visited a rhubarb festival earlier in the year. They seem to have survived the night. I want to nip out for some more compost and I can do the same with my peas and courgettes. Not sure if I’m a bit early or not yet but they’re getting a bit too big for their little pots.

I sometimes wonder if so many of those films that win Oscars are because they are so "deep & meaningful" not actually because of how good they are.  I have been so deeply unimpressed by many.
