Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

I went to the craft group this morning - not the best session I’ve ever been to, but was nice to chat to the people there. It was rolling paper around a knitting needle to make beads - quite calming but I prefer the card making. Apparently we’re doing the same next time…..I might give it a miss.
I went for a scan this afternoon. As usual my veins weren’t playing and it took 5 attempts to get the cannula in. Once they managed it was only about 20 minutes. It was a bit touch and go whether I managed to hold onto the litre of water I had to drink…..😂😂😂😂 but I did 😊
I was very good though and although I was tempted to treat myself to a coffee and cake - I didn’t- I came home and had a lovely milky coffee and biscuit instead of spending any cash.
I still haven’t mustered the courage to tot March’s spends including the holidays 😏January spends - £587.581 -
Well done on resisting the temptation of coffee and cake out Milann! As for the spends - just get it done, you KNOW it's better to know, and it might not even be as bad as you imagine!
Do you expect to have to wait long for the scan results? Hopefully it will all be as expected anyway!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EH they said the scan results would be about 2 weeks and the biopsy results about 6 weeks - I think it’s about 3 weeks since I had the biopsy so I’m expecting to hear in a couple of weeks. I’m not unduly worried as the doc made perfect sense when when I had the camera….he’s just making 100% sure rather than 99% sure that it’s only what he could see and nothing more sinister lurking where he couldn’t get the camera. There isn’t a lot they can do - a complication of the surgeries I have had……there is some drastic surgery which I’m not prepared to have unless things get considerably worse than they are now. It’s not ideal but much, much better than the alternative 😏😁 I wouldn’t have been around to tell the tale if they hadn’t done the op 😳😁😁
Its a horrible grey, dark, stormy and windy day here. We certainly picked the right week to go to Cornwall……glad we aren’t there this week…..that said, I bet it’s better weather there. We are going to Costco later with ds. I’ll stock up on some tinned items as the cupboards are looking a tad depleted. It costs a lot when I go but does save me money in the long run. We share most of the purchases and split the costs. Don’t think I’ve been since before Christmas. Some things are the same price but better quality than the shops……some things considerably cheaper but others I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole.
I’ve tried very hard to get straight back on track with SlimmingWorld since I’ve been home…a bit of a blip yesterday after the hospital 😏...I’d put 5lb on with pasties, cream teas and Cornish cider when i weighed myself at home on Saturday. I’m hoping to have lost some and be closer to my pre Cornwall weight when I go back tomorrow.🤞🤞
I was reading a diary which was talking about getting out of debts by breaking habits. This really struck a cord with me. When I think back to all the habits I’ve broken I’m quite pleased with myself…..it did give a nudge though, as I’ve realised some are beginning to creep back.
habits I’ve stoppedbuying magazines
having drinks and cakes every time I go out, visiting town and shops - for something to do…….which always led to purchases 😏. I know go if I actually need something.
I pay my cc several times a month so it never builds up…..I use it to collect points for meals out 😁
Putting cChristmas gift money away each month
there’s probably many more that I can’t think of
Habits that are beginning to creep back though
buying bits of craft items and not using them,
ignoring the bank statements when I know I’ve had a spendy week - the difference now is I’m still nowhere near the red and know I’m within limits.
Treating myself to clothes when I see something whether I need it or not 😳
It just shows reading the diaries and other people’s experiences help even when the debts are paid……I’m not going down that route ever again 👍😁😁😁😁😁😁😁January spends - £587.580 -
Not much to report. I went to Slimming World another 1 lb on but it has reduced from 5lb which was my weigh at home weight when I came back form Cornwall after pasties, cream teas and meals out. I am trying to change some habits though……as Beanie says - keep plodding.Still not sat down to look at finances……I need Dh to help me send some paperwork to HSA for a claim - I’ve no idea how to send things electronically.I need to give the house a bit of a spring clean. It’s not too bad but I used to always do it before Easter after we’d broken up. My routines are all messed up now I don’t have to live by school holidays.January spends - £587.580

So not sure what got into me last week…..I just didn’t want to look at any finances at all. I’d spent on holiday but I knew I hadn’t over spent but just couldn’t face looking at the numbers.
March spends were £440.46 plus £200 cash making it £640.46 still under my current cash coming in 😁 this also included £189 for new specs - I’ll have some cash coming back when I’ve put my claim into HSA 😁
April so far is £241 which includes a £110 spend in Costco stocking up - hopefully I can keep spends low and face looking at them again 😁
Christmas cash presents have been squirrelled away and cc paid in full 😁January spends - £587.580 -
That's really good to say you didn't keep tally so well done.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Thanks SA…..I think all the financial uncertainty atm is putting me off spending anything….not sure why as I have Dh around to help….and he is brilliant. There just seems a general foreboding around that has got to me 😏
I’ve had a full day in on my own for the first time in a while. I was ready for it…..much needed thinking and chilling time. I’ve decided which top I’m going to make with some fabric I bought a few weeks ago. 😁 Not sure how it’ll turn out as I haven’t made any clothes since the children were tiny. My best friend is an amazing seamstress though so if I get stuck I can call for her help…..but I want to do it myself 👍January spends - £587.580 -

Got my new specs. They seem much stronger than my last - wearing them in slowly. I went to visit an old friend I haven’t seen for best part of a year. We put the world to rights.£10 spent in Asd@……meant free parking in town though 😁January spends - £587.581
