    Have a fabulous time.
I avoid single track roads…which is quite hard up here. The thought of having to reverse for miles if someone coming the other way won’t, just fills me with dread. I have never mastered fast and straight reversing 🤣 reversing into spaces is fine, but down a single track road is my worst nightmare 🤣

I’m looking forward to the location by the beach. How much time will be spent on site is yet to be seen 😏😁 I can’t believe just how much I’ve missed Cornwall- I’m getting a tad excited about returning and visiting our old haunts. We were wondering how many of our favourite pubs and restaurants have survived these last couple of years…….Just hope we don’t put ourselves an auto pilot and turn up at our old campsite where we stored the caravan for best part of 20 years 😂😂😂 That site has been taken ove rby the caravan club and is very expensive now 😳😳

Have to confess this made me smile. As you can imagine over in the Hebrides there are a LOT of single track roads, and the locals also have a very shrewd idea of which cars belong to visitors. Quite often we find a situation when we and a car coming the other way might both overshoot - you can see the exasperated expression on the face of the local you're head on with as they assume they will have to be the one to reverse as visitors never can in their experience. Then I wallop the car into reverse and whizz back to the previous passing place. The look rapidly changes to astonishment, and frequently earns a nod of respect as they pass - it always makes us chuckle. I like to think we're doing at least a small amount to improve the reputation of visitors

WW I envy you if I’m right thinking you live down there. Dh was made redundant just as the children left home. We looked into opening a cafe in St Ives and we’re about to put our house on the market…..but he was offered a job straight away by a rival company and wouldn’t risk it. I often wonder where we’d be now had we taken the risk.

Thanks SSG2. You take care of yourself.
Everywhere is tidied and bedding washed and changed. I’m just having a break for my dinner and then will pack the van. Tea will either be a takeaway or trip to w’spoons. I’ve no intentions of messing my lovely clean kitchen

Van is packed - I need a holiday after tidying and packing 😂😂 just a few bits to throw in in the morning. If I’ve forgotten anything - tough 😆
Antibiotics are finished so hopefully I should be ok now 😁 The sea air will cure all anyway😁😁
Booked an eye test for when I come back I was due to have one when covid hit……so long overdue 😏
I was down to my last egg yesterday but Dh brought 20 home from his boss’ chickens 😁 I thought I was going to have to buy some. I haven’t bought any for weeks and weeks 😁 I’ll get a shock when his boss comes home and I have to start buying them again. They really are much more yellow yolked than shop ones.

We arrived home last night. I had a wonderful time. The first week’s  weather was just glorious- sunshine with lots of blue skies - although a tad hazy. It went very cold and windy on Thursday but we were due to leave Friday so a mooch around Falmouth with lunch out kept us busy and warm. We got around and about to everywhere we wanted in Millie we did go the longer way around to stay on main roads though. Parking was ok too…..we parked in our usual hideaways and walked into towns 😁 - would have probably been a different story in high season but was ideal this time around. I can’t praise the Haven site enough. The bathroom blocks were spotless…..continually cleaned. The shop was open until 10, well stocked and run by the Co-op and the same prices as my local co op. We did go to the bars and evening entertainment a few times….again great at this time of year but don’t think I’d fancy it in high season. We had quite a few swims too…..so was certainly worth the £11 a night 😁😁😁
En route we stayed in a pub carpark in Exmouth…..a lovely carvery and breakfast. We went to Perranporth, St Ives, Padstow, New Quay, The Lizard and Porth Leven.  We visited a friend too. We’d played with the idea of staying over around Somerset but couldn’t get on the site we wanted so decided to come home and have a relaxing weekend instead 😁

I was quite surprised how much we both had to pace ourselves since our last visit to Cornwall  4 years ago. Not sure why I was surprised but it was very noticeable how often we had to rest and pop into a cafe or pub for a sit down. 😆
I will look at finances and pay my cc off to clear holiday spends over the weekend….I visited a Seasalt shop…..it was my promise to myself when I was first out of hospital and I found their flared tops fit me perfectly 😁 I bought a t shirt…….I don’t even want to think about the price 🙉🙈🙊 but it fits ok and it felt good going in and trying things on 😁
A busy week ahead here. U3A groups Monday and Wednesday, optician on Tuesday and  scan Wednesday afternoon. I had a phone call whilst away asking why I’d missed my appointment on 25th…..I hadn’t had an appointment through and we didn’t leave for Cornwall until 11 am on 24 th 😏
