I haven’t had tinned carrots for years but a while back I acquired lots of canned food from a SlimmingWorld raffle. We used them with the canned potatoes, again something I hadn’t used for years and some lovely canned M&S stewed steak one evening in the van when we were both too tired to cook anything proper as couldn’t be bothered heading out in the rain for something out. So I threw them all together in a pan……it was lovely. So we’ve decided it will be something we will always have in the van as a go to in a hurry meal…..Dh has nipped into town for a few bits so will pop into Mr Ts to see if they have any……he’s just come back and they did 👍👍👍
I have just tried the stick hoover out in the van. It’s ok and will do for a 2nd hoover but I’ll hang onto my proper old Panasonic as a back up. Don’t think it’s as good as my dd dyson but it was 1/3rd of the price. Ive sorted the cupboards and wiped every surface in the van ready to pack before we head off on Tuesday. This afternoon will be a pottering sort of time, we’re seeing ds tomorrow and I’ll pack everything and tidy the house whilst Dh is at work. We are staying on a proper site for 2 nights and then on a CL site for 2 nights. It sounds remarkably like a site we stayed on when the children were small…..will be interesting to see if we’ve picked the same site over 30 years apart. We haven’t used the shower in the van…..could be interesting. I have to admit I prefer proper sites with a nice bathroom block. Will see how it goes….January spends - £587.581 -

We always use the shower on the van even when we are on sites with facilities. It's a great shower on ours. Very roomy and a very powerful spray from the shower head. It was partly what drew us to our particular model van. A quarter of the van is shower and toilet, a quarter of the van is kitchen and the other half is lounge with the drop down bed above.
Pasta bake is our go too easy meal on the van when I can't be bothered to cook anything extravagant.
I doubt I could convince the other half to have tinned stewing steak and tinned veg!1 -
I didn’t think I’d convince myself to have tinned meat or veg 😂😂😂😂 it’s only the fact that I’d acquired them and didn’t want to waste them😂😂😂 I was genuinely surprised how much we enjoyed it.
I’m sure the shower will be fine…….it’s because we’d always used the sites facilities when we had the old caravan and I’m a creature of habit. Plus it saves topping the water up👍Dh has just bought a new sleeping bag for us. We’d looked when we got the van but there wasn’t a lot out there, but it was the wrong season and he said there was a lot of choice today. He didn’t go out for sleeping bags 😁 I find it much easier than trying to fit sheets on a bed👍January spends - £587.582 -

If we are off sites touring we tend to have 3 nights off sites then 1 night on a site to deal with the tanks.
I like having proper bedding on the van and same when we had the boat. Somehow feels more permanent!1 -
Thanks RS…..I had wondered how long the water would last. It’s what they are designed for but I still have a mini dread of running out of water all soaped up 😂😂😂😂ooooohhhhh not a pretty sight for the other campers 😳😏😂January spends - £587.582

I’ve just had a letter from the hospital confirming what they told me when I went for the camera. Nothing sinister but a side effect of the surgery I’ve had…..back under the care of my GP. Phew 👍January spends - £587.582
