I hope you had a lovely day out with the family today. The weather was very good as well always a bonus.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2

Well yesterday didn’t work out as planned but was a lovely day. Dd and family headed to the art gallery and we were meeting them there…..roughly an hour from home. We had a phone call saying eldest gd had been travel sick ( they thought) so we did our own thing until we knew she was ok and then just went to meet them at their Airbnb later in the day. We had a nice easy meal with them instead of going out to eat and played board games. It was nicer than sitting in a restaurant and more sw friendly for me 😉 The house and views from the house were amazing. After the phone call we meandered some of the little towns on the Yorkshire border and found a fantastic little cafe on the banks of a canal we’d been going to visit for a long time it never got around to. It was an outdoor place but had the best bacon and sausage barmcake I’d ever tasted. I went halves with my ds as they were mashoosive 😜 so shouldn’t have been too drastic sw wise 😂😂😂 then we shared an ice cream which they make themselves and had a tub that was edible. We walked along the canal and then stopped at another town where they filmed Last of The summer Wine. I went into a charity shop and was chuffed to find a couple of Harry Potter felt sewing sets which have been put away for eldest gd birthday a bargainous £2.50 each 👍👍 so I’ll give her a bit of cash with these as she has just discovered she loves sewing and is ploughing her way through the Potter books 👍 but is enjoying saving up for bigger items too.
A word of warning though…..there is a glut of fake £5 notes going around. I don’t often use cash but went to pay with a fiver - the man in the shop scraped a little bit on the back of the note with a penny and the surface came away. Later I compared it to my sil’s fiver and there should actually be a hologram there. I ended up paying with my card in the shop…..he said they had been inundated with them. I think I picked mine up in SW after paying for my raffle ticket…..but can’t prove it. Shops check the notes they get but I certainly don’t 😡January spends - £587.581 -
Just paid my cc and done some number crunching….’my’ August spends so far £360 which isn’t as bad as I’d expected as I took my foot off the pedal with having visitors and treating my gks 😉My month carries on until 1 st week in September as I use my cc month. Need to reign in though as I’m eating into my savings. Need a decision quickly about ESA and works pension as I’ve had no money coming in since June 😏January spends - £587.582

Sounds like you had a good day out. We have not been to Holmfirth for a long time.
We never check our notes either!!2 -
I’ve just made a SW recipe from a recent cook book. It’s says it serves 4……more like at least 8 - 😂😂😂 we’ll be eating it forever. Good job we both like it…. I told dh I was making soup and he’s turned up with a salt and pepper baguette…..I’ve resisted 😇 so far 😉 one of my favourites…..no wonder I don’t lose weight 😜January spends - £587.582
