I’ve got the gks on their own tonight as their mum is being taken out for an early birthday present at a post hotel in town for a 10 course tasting meal…..little monkeys have only just gone to sleep.A moth flew into the bedroom - a minute one but it freaked the little one out - she has been stung by wasps at least 4 times - they seem to make a beeline ( or wasp line) for her…..so she is a bit paranoid about being bitten and stung. Plus her mum had a black and swollen eye as she was bitten when watching England play - they had the tv in the garden - her face was a mess so very much in the forefront of little ones mind. They’ll be shattered tomorrow as they are usually in bed very early.

  • Hope they get a lie in tomorrow and that mum enjoys her 10 courses. Plus that you are having a great time having them there .

Just read through your diary milann since third week in June!😱

It's been a real rollercoaster ride for you these past months what with all the red tape you've had to deal with!  I'm sorry the headmistress at your old school turned out to be so unhelpful - as you wrote, it's rather sad after working there for so long. ☹️

Anyhow I was pleased to read that your retirement has been ok'd!👍. Also I've loved reading about your various outings and walks.

You've also pushed me into joining Slimming World!  I'm off to join a group on Tuesday mornings. Needs must!😂

I hope you enjoyed your concert last night and you and DH are making the most of seeing the family again. x

We had a fantastic night on Friday - The Four Tops singing their own hits and some classic Motown. Everyone up dancing in the aisles. They have fantastic voices and still got the dance moves…..I’m not sure how many were original members but they were pretty good nevertheless. It brought a tear to my eyes when they sang the song with my late sister’s name……my dad and brother constantly sang it to her….but they are lovely memories.  We walked there and back so hopefully I’ll have walked a few calories off. Although I have to admit SW hasn’t featured highly in my thoughts this week 😏
I’ve totally lost track of days but we have been to a lovely local NT place. The girls were fascinated with the deer that are nearly always there. We went into the house and the gardens. The eldest one was fascinated with the hospital ward that was set up to replicate a ward from when the house was a hospital in the war. There were hoopla hoop activities in the gardens and a great time was had by all. Best of all - the sun shone ☀️☀️ Yesterday was a day dodging rain at ds house- he made some lovely curries for us. Their dad arrived for breakfast this morning in time for breakfast after a 4 hour plus journey to get to us. They’ve just headed to the local park and myself and dh are chilling for a while. Tomorrow they are off for a holiday in the next county along so we might well join them for a day 👍 I took the girls to a charity shop near to where I worked which sells predominantly books…..she was in 7th heaven and left with a bag full of books and a smile as big as they come 😂😂😂 they also ended up with a lovely wooden chess and draught set and lovely wooden toy till from the sister charity shop a few doors down. So the charity shop did well from us. It’s been lovely but tiring 😏
After they’ve gone in the morning I need to send some sick notes in to DWP and then somebody is phoning me to discuss my ESA claim next week.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend 👍

😂😂😂Oh dear Seasidegal……hope you’re not using me as inspiration for SlimmingWorld. I do know it works as I’ve seen a lot of people loose weight with it….but I’m too spontaneous and stick to it when it suits me……

You've had a really great weekend milann. 🥰. The Four Tops concert sounded fab - I love all their records. My sister said there is a new musical coming about The Drifters - Beverley Knight is in it. Will have to do some research on this....😃

Re Slimming World - I've had a large slice of lemon drizzle cake today (she says sheepishly......)😈

SSG I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen the Drifters over the years but the absolute best time I saw them was at a wedding several years ago ( it was for the couple celebrating the baby’s 1st birthday last weekend) Anyway we’d had a 5 course meal at a very posh 5* hotel and as it finished the Drifters walked in and they were the entertainment for the evening. Nobody knew as the hosts wanted it to be a surprise. I was up dancing and singing literally all night and knew the words to every song…..they actually mentioned I must be a fan and dedicated Like Sister and Brother to myself and dh - it was quite surreal that they dedicated that song as we worked together we never told the people we worked with we were an item for months so it was ‘our song’. We’ve actually got a cd of the evening with the bride and grooms name on and live recording…..oooh I think I’ll have to put it on tomorrow. The show sounds just up my street 😃 I’ll watch out for it 👍
We went with dd and family to a sculptor park in the next county from us today and then went to see the holiday home where they are staying until Friday. We might meet them later in the week as it’s about a 45 minute drive from here.
Today didn’t quite go to plan as I hadn’t realised we were going out so tomorrow will be paying my cc and sorting out sick notes to send to DWP……then if I’ve got any energy I might begin to get the house into some sort of order after my visitors.
I daren’t even begin to count the spends for August as it went completely out of the window buying nice food and treating the gks…..I don’t see them often and we get treated very well there……it will all sort itself out😏

That's such a lovely story about The Drifters milann.  I think you and DH should watch the dvd together!🥰👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

I wouldn't worry too much about the spends. It's been well worth it to see and spend precious time with your family after all missed due to the lockdown. 💕
