The party was really lovely. Dh bosses family certainly know how to entertain….but when money is no object it makes life much easier……It was nice to see the baby who was 1 earlier in the week. I had a conducted tour of the house and saw all the alterations dh and been a part of….mmm…..if only I could get him doing things like that at home 😂😂😂 It’s only a small family firm that he works for and they treat him like family in a lot of ways which is nice. I felt ok in the dress I wore….it was quite loose fitting and my friend who does all the dressmaking had altered the sleeves and introduced me to a maternity band to wear underneath….a strip of material that you wear around the middle- it just gives a streamlined appearance and the stoma is less visible 👍 As expected the food didn’t disappoint…..lamb kofta which was a tad spicy for me but dh loved, a gorgeous delicately spiced chicken with fennel….various salads of which watermelon, yoghurt and mint was my favourite, then there were veg dishes and flatbreads……followed by cake, cake and more cake….plus the Prosecco was flowing quite nicely. It must be nice to be able to have caterers in to cook serve and clear up afterwards…..saying that I enjoy catering myself but would quite like someone to clear up for me…..So a lovely afternoon was spent…..pity it rained for most of the time. The thing that tickled me was the amount of family members - at least 4 of them……came and complemented me on a little knitted hoodie I’d made for the baby ages ago. They all said how lovely he’d looked in it……they mustn’t have much home made stuff…..just designer wear 😂😂😂 I might make a different jacket to use up some of my stash. Just a couple of times I felt like a fish out of water though as most of the folk there were business people I didn’t have a lot in common with and once the usual small talk was over I was at a loss so made my excuses to escape a few times 😂😂😂
So SW went out of the window yesterday….need to back on track today. We are going over to ds for one of his amazing paella’s for tea 👍 I’m going to do a few jobs for him before dd goes to stay there overnight next week.
The paint stayed on the decking and ramp - even though it rained all afternoon when it shouldn’t have done 😡💧😡. I couldn’t do the 2nd coat mainly because B&Q didn’t have any base paint to do the colour mix with when dh tried to get me more paint yesterday……it was actually too wet to do it anyway.
Before I do anything I actually need to get up. I’ve had breakfast in bed and been watching gardening programmes……but it’s not getting a lot done 😜January spends - £587.580 -

Not a lot planned today other than tidying the house and planting some rhubarb I’ve been gifted 👍
I’m aiming for an NSD and day on plan with SW.
I have decided to ring the union…..the more I’ve thought about it - had the headteacher had checked rather than fobbing me off when I phoned over a month ago we wouldn’t have been in this mess of a situation. It’s unfortunate that the school business manager is off after a bereavement but surely they should have had supply staff in…… I’m not convinced they will be able to do much as the top and bottom of it is school is shut until September……but it might make me feel better 🤔

September is only 2 weeks away and it might put a rocket up their bums when they reopen so no harm in doing what you can?1

The party sounded lovely, I’m glad you had a good day.
I’m another one who hates to complain or rattle too many cages, but that often ends up being to our detriment doesn’t it! You have paid all that money over the years for union backing, so it seems really sensible to try and use them. Plus, normally, the reason we hold off complaining is in case of backlash, but in this case that doesn’t really apply as you won’t be there. Good luck 🤞Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

So I’ve contacted the union……true to form she is on holiday. I rang the alternative member whose number was given, but they recommended waiting for the lady on holiday as she knows the case. 😂😂😂 I’ll swear I’m jinxed 😂😂😂
Anyway I’ve e-mailed her a timeline of events and asked her to get back to me when she finishes her leave. Watch this space……and according to the union rep I spoke to the pensions people can still request an independent doctors report.January spends - £587.580 -
Trying to get anything like this done in August is a nightmare, everything seems to come to a standstill.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
