Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

Hi Millan, I had a perforated eardrum over 30 years ago. I actually went for a job interview in agony and got the job! I am now deaf in my right ear due to a vestibular schwannoma and I actually had to stop today and wonder if there was a connection. But no definitely not as the perforated eardrum was the left one. So certainly in my case no permanent effect on the hearing and from looking up NHS unusual for a perforated eardrum to cause permanent deafness.0

I agree with Paspatur. Both my eardrums have been perforated more than once over the years which caused temporary problems but my deafness was actually caused during scarlet fever & measles when I was 3. But according to doctors my eardrums have a lot of scar tissue. I am now having a serious look at hearing aids as now I am so much older my hearing has definitely deteriorated, it seems to run in the family as I remember having to shout to my great grandfather & my mother needed them in her very early 80s.

That’s reassuring Bad memory and Paspatur. The hearing loss the family member has had all their life cannot be rectified with aids, but because the now perforated ear was super sensitive it didn’t matter. My dh cannot have aids either because of the type of loss whereas I have 2 as did my sister and dad. They can do some clever things.
So today I have cleaned the kitchen pretty thoroughly, a quick once over the living room and upstairs. I wanted to do it before I got too bad. I’m done in now though and think I’ll be having an early night. Just hope I sleep better than the last few nights….I’ve been waking up really hot.
So I was in touch with the gp surgery for some duplicate sicknotes from March onwards. I put the date in the title and in the email. This evening I noticed a text saying my duplicates from June are ready…… I won’t be impressed if it is only from June when I pick them up tomorrow…..I think the admin staff are incapable of reading instructions if my experience this last week is anything to go by 😏 will see what tomorrow brings…..January spends - £587.580 -
August spends have gone up to £70 as I called into Aldi and bought some bits and face cream plus paid for my meal out which was a tenner but so worth it. I stayed SW friendly too and had a salad 😇 with diet drink 😇😇January spends - £587.581

Oops another £10 spent today….some strawberries, veg, raffle ticket at SW and a cuppa in the park…..need to keep an eye on things. Total August spend £80
So the pensions saga continues……I had a phone call from HR saying they’ve been in touch with my head teacher and apparently the hold up is they are waiting on a doctors report. Baring in mind I was told a few weeks back when I asked for a progress report from school that the paperwork had been sent to the pensions people and is out of their hands……I’ve also had the final report from Occy Health complete with all the medical reports….😡😡 So until schools go back in September nothing more can be done 😡😡
My GP surgery had copies of the paperwork I need for ESA claim as requested when I went to collect them yesterday 👍 However they tried to cancel an appointment I have to speak with a GP tomorrow morning asking me to put my request for the sick note I’ve been waiting for since 25 July in writing. I was going to do this…..to be told it would be 10 days…….I told them I’d given them 9 days notice then had a text asking me to make an appointment with GP to discuss😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 and been waiting for said appointments ever since…. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH going round in circles 😳😳😳😳January spends - £587.580 -
What a nightmare, so frustrating for you 😡I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

On a plus note 1 1/2 lb off this morning. I’ll take that with bells on because this week I’ve had an afternoon tea at my house for my friends birthday then a meal out for our anniversary and dinner out with teacher from school yesterday. But in between I’ve been on it and done lots of walking. I think I’m more chuffed I’ve had 3 losses in a row….not massive ones but 3 1/2lb in 3 weeks. I’ve booked a weeks holiday next week as dd and gks are coming to stay 😃 By the end of my 6 week countdown…..which is actually 7 weeks because of my holiday……I want to have lost 1/2 stone…..it’s doable…..then another 6 week countdown with a weeks holiday in between should see me at target. I feel the 6 week countdown work better for me than the 12 week one…..smaller chunks. I feel very determined this time. I walked to SW it’s quite a nice walk partly through a park. I took a picnic with me and ate it in the park on my way home, people watching- I bought a cuppa too. There was a loyalty card at the coffee van so I’ll get a freebie at the end of my 6 coffees 😃

Well done with the weight loss.
We both really need to start losing a few pounds. Might make it a winter project to shed a few.0 -
