Well the Wikipedia page on the 'Demography of Wales' refers to "immigrants" born in England, so you'd probably get away with it. Besides, they get called much worse in Wales.:)0 -
Hmm. Where is your dinner going to come from? The UK makes most of the meat and milk she consumes but very few veggies.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I'd agree. The question is how many of the voting base have been affected in some way by immigration (and are concerned) compared to the numbers who perceive there is a problem with immigration (when they don't actually have any experience).
There aren't hordes of migrants trying to price me or my family out of housing where I live.
My old uni mate who lives in Lincoln says the place has changed completely, due to migration.
I can't tell him his concerns are not valid, can I?
Migrants in the UK aren't hordes, and they aren't trying to price anyone out of anything.
What is his concern? If it's that migrant hordes are trying to force him from his home then yes I'd suggest you encourage him to seek professional help. If his concern is that the large influx of migrants into Lincoln is outstripping demand for property then I would suggest you highlight that the work they're coming for needs doing, and that if it wasn't migrants then you'd have an influx of nationals (or food not being picked) who'd probably need to pay more and want to live in lower occupancy dwellings likely increasing the cost of housing even further. Though that's just me, and the fact I wouldn't use such language to describe people striving for work probably makes me an "idiot lefty" as certain members of the anti-foreign lobby would put it.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. I like that; "defiantly go bankrupt". To boldly go where no economic union has gone before.

setmefree2 wrote: »The pound extends its slide........Readers Question: What are the main reasons for the decline of the pound, and what are the costs and benefits of a low pound?
The decline of the Pound is due to:- Cuts in interest rates
- Declining economy – causing expectation of lower interest rates
- ‘Technical positions’ dealers selling Pounds to get rid of surplus positions.
- see more reasons
Benefits of Low Pound- Cheaper exports. A falling pound improves the competitiveness of UK exporters. (Although, exports are an increasingly small % of the economy – manufacturing accounts for 18% of GDP)
- Increases demand for domestic products. Imports are more expensive, therefore consumers are more likely to buy UK goods which increases UK aggregate demand.
- A low Pound is beneficial in times of a recession, because it is helping to increase Aggregate Demand. In 1992, when the UK left the ERM, the pound depreciated and it helped the economy recover.
- In theory the current account deficit should improve as the value of exports rises relative to the value of imports.
- Expensive for UK tourists abroad. Trips to Europe become more expensive. Imported goods become more expensive. Firms who import raw materials will see higher costs
- Inflation. Falling pound can cause inflation because imports are more expensive and AD rises. But, inflation is falling anyway because of the recession.
- Less incentive to cut costs. It is argued depreciation can make exporters have less incentive to cut costs.
I don’t worry about a falling Pound at moment.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
